Films that you like, but are ruined by one character. Or a stupid plot line.

Pretty good in that. Shame it took him the best part of a decade to claw his way back from the prequels though. Don't think anyone would have made Anakin a well written character tbh.

The films were shite. I’m not a Starwars fan, even the later ones were garbage.

Not to sure about that. At their core I believe the prequels are the same as breaking bad. A good man becoming bad. That show was incredibly well written. I have this feeling that the prequels would have worked better as a 10 part, hour long mini series. Flesh out Anakin more, let the romance blossom more naturally. what

They should have chucked the Anakin in episode 1 out altogether and spent the extra time on developing the adult character.

Without the Star Wars prequels though, we never would have had the Red Letter Media reviews on Youtube, which are absolute classics. One of them asks a really simple question. Who's the main character in Episode 1? And basically concludes that it doesn't actually have one. I remember watching it in the cinema when it first came out and there were so many unintended laughs.

I think kid Anakin was far more annoying than adult Anakin though. Yeah, I'm sure an 8 year old would have no problem flying a fighter plane into battle.

Love Peter Serafinowicz (Darth Maul's voice) talking about watching it for the first time at the premiere.
