It has been, was on the pitch myself at Bradford in '89 but there are two aspects of the Villa invasion that differed from previous celebrations by City that I've seen.

1. Wrecking the goalposts, if the fuckwits who did that read this post and haven't already been banned just fuck off and stay away.

2. No need to say or do anything to the opposition players, whether they were touched or not is irrelevant, just run past them and get on with celebrating. I don't recall any QPR players getting hassled in 2012.

As ever, a small minority of idiots have messed things up for the majority of well-behaved fans who just wanted to celebrate.

So, what’s the punishment for breaking into a locked ground, invading the pitch and subsequently getting the scheduled match postponed?

Nothing unless you can prove the club let them in, or that they were fans with tickets to the game.
