Fire at Manchester Dogs home :(

It's all gone a bit OTT now. A young lad has just been taken from his foster parents after being abused for over a year; where's the fund raising for him? For the RSPCC? For any society against the abuse of children?

For every £3 that is donated to the RSPCA £1 gets donated to the RSPCC, in this country. Says a lot.

The difference is that humans are cared for by the state funded through our taxation system, organisations that look after animals are almost entirely funded through charitable donations, I really don't buy the moral comparisons being made by people in this thread

I'm sure that if it had been an orphanage run solely on donations that had burned down there'd have been a lot more than £1m raised by now.

The NSPCC doesn't have the same 'cute' appeal as the RSPCA - not saying it's right but that's probably got a lot to do with it. Along with the fact that there are local authority and govt depts in place for children - not really much for your average pets - so people feel that the children are/should be catered for by them?

The RSPCA seem to be more active in their advertising too.

As much as I feel the justgiving online campaign has raised valuable funding for this Dogs home, what really pisses me off (even more than the actual Arson attack) is all the celebrity cunts jumping on this bandwagon.

People such as the tv ratings whore Simon Cowell - <a class="postlink" href="http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/holiday-simon-cowell-dogs-home-7766772" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... me-7766772</a>

Who is pledging what's probably pocket change to him to this Dogs home and whoever else is associated with this incident.

Great, dog resources such as food and money has been raised - but then some **** like this:

With the Actor Dog cast, the perfect white smile, making him out to be this glorious dog owner, comes out and fronts this whole disaster just makes me feel sick.

This guy as an example is probably one of the most busiest celebrities on the circuit, regularly flying all over the world, promoting music artists and doing tv shows etc etc.... You're telling me he has time to walk his dog several times aday like they should be?

if he does own a dog, this **** probably pays more per year in having somebody walk his dog for him than he has actually donated to the dogs home.

He has 2 dogs that go everywhere with him.He adores dogs and has said so for years

So his dogs are in the long haul luggage compartments all the time on planes are they?

Never said he didn't say he adores dogs... I wonder if he got his dog from a dogs home?

I highly doubt he'll be getting his next dogs from a dogs home either.

if it wasn't for people buying designer dogs all the time and actually going to dogs homes to get these dogs that need homes - we wouldn't of had this disaster where many dogs have sadly died.
