First and second half tables - Why are we so poor in the second half?

That table just shows how Liverpool scrabble for points at the end of the game.
Being top of the 2nd half league is not a good thing.

It is if you are top overall, and other than that it doesn't matter. Front runner or stayer, a wins a win, and we are 3rd at the moment.

It's because we manage the game. We go hell for leather, the first goal so important, 2nd too obvious. But then we do that thing of grinding the opposition down, not let them have the ball, make them work hard just to stop us. It's psychological battering that we try to do once we're winning. And we're the best at it. No other team does that, in this league.

A better question is what happens to Liverpool at half time?

We end up trying to manage the game out with few substitutions. Other teams use their subs against us so it gives them that extra bit of energy.

More points second half than first from same number of games, begs the question why are so many others so bad in the first half. arsenal 15 points better, liverpool 26 points better for instance.
