When we lost the dog before last our rescue centres only seemed to have pedigrees and about two thirds of them were staffies.

Not a dog I'd ever consider although I do know one or two lovely ones. That said I've seen an adult XL bully and a separate new puppy XL bully in our local park recently, magnificent looking dogs but Christ, the adult was terrifyingly big and powerful.

They look so scary and knowing what they can do to you i see no case for continuing to breed them

Can you still get mongrels? We always had them back in the day but everything is either "pure bred" or first crosses like Cockerpoos now.

Mate a a cross breed is the new name for mongrel, it’s trendy to say it, something that is different breeds is a mongrel.

Don’t even think of even two rescue Beagles and one is a nightmare on its own.
Great looking and loads of fun but the naughtiest dogs ive ever had.

My suggestion would be a Golden Retriever easy to train and will e happy to do what you want to do not what they want to do as in the case of ‘The Dangerous Brothers’

My Dalmastaffapoosatian is a pure breed and for only £2k too .
I also bought a bridge on the same day .
