Out of towner but am sure you'll recognise a few of these...

Dead Kennedys - Cromer West Runton Pavillion 1979
Altered Images - University of East Anglia 1980
Echo & the Bunnymen - University of East Anglia 1981?

also had tickets for Bow Wow Wow at UEA but in true Malcolm McLaren style he hyped it up to fuck then cancelled

My first gigs were at the UEA

Saw Joe Strummer (solo) around 88 then Debbie Harry (solo) around 89/90

It's a good little venue the UEA - The Mondays last December were excellent there, as were The Charlatans and Shed Seven in the mid-late 90's

Who are those mugs at concerts who let birds sit on their shoulders? What a bunch of fucking numpties. Not only are they stood there sweating like cunts whilst theirs birds try and grab the attention of the cameras or whoever is onstage, but they're also missing the show. Fucking nobheads.
Yeah but but their necks smell of pussy Stony.

Eau de twatette.

First gig was Iron Maiden at the Apollo, 1986, right smack bang at the front! Saw a few other metal bands at the Apollo, and Faith No More at the International I think in '87.
Thinking back at the prices for gigs in the 80's 90's I saw some great bands for relative peanuts compared to the prices these days, prime example, Nirvana ( and 3 other bands) for £4 in 1990, even after Nevermind blew up and they started playing bigger venues, I think I only paid £6.50, these days you need a bloody mortgage!

Fleetwood Mac at Bingley Hall in June 1980. Right in the middle of my O levels. Had Biology exam the next morning and only ended up with a B grade, but it was worth it to see Stevie Nicks in her prime

Thompson Twins at the Apollo on the night Luton put us down in 83. Went straight there after the match after meeting my cousin near the Whitworth pub

First proper gig was New Order at the Hacienda around 85

Was at all of them too

You are clearly a man of taste and discernment.

I may have Robin Trower out of sequence: he may in fact have been my fourth gig.

Supertramp supported by Joan Armatrading was another gig I went to at end of November 1975, like Cult and Queen. That was when my gig going really started to ramp up and 41 years later it is still going fairly strong, just got home from taking wife and daughters to see Catfish and the Bottlemen at Wembley Arena.

I went to that one. I think it was the only time I went to Bingley and it wasn't a standing gig. Row 27 Seat 66.

Bloody hell, you know somert,I thought that place was just a made up name,as sung by The Specials in Friday night/Saturday morning song, but it makes sense now, with them being from there, fuck me it's a small and weird world we live in,I have lived a sheltered life at times though I think to myself,I've just googled Locarno Coventry and there it is/was,looks like it has gone these days

Edit- Just looked into it further, and it is now Coventry Central Library I think !!! You might know different ?
It was a duel club with Tiffany's and The Lacarno. I think the specials live single too much too young was recorded there.
The clubs were upstairs above the shops in the precinct and you had to go up this glass enclosed staircase which was out on the pavement to get in.
Think they removed the stairs and put a lift in for the library

Prince. Maine Rd 1990.

Shit, just remembered, Chris Rea, somewhere in Sheffield maybe a year earlier

*shame face but the tickets were a gift.
...but...I defy anybody trollin' down the motorway tryin' to get home in time for Xmas to their Mrs/Fella/Partner/Mistress/Dog/Goldfish/etc. at Xmas not to be uplifted by 'Drivin' home for Christmas? But yeh...there was also a lot of shite in the boot of Mr Rea's car. :-)

Eau de twatette.

Their necks smell of minge sweat, and if they're subservient enough to miss a concert in order to please a woman who is trying her hardest to get the attention of another man, then they wouldn't have a fucking clue what a pussy smells like.
