So I am making my first trip to Manchester, from Canada, for the Leicester game. I will be staying in the city center, I am wondering what are some places you would consider a must see? Besides the Etihad of course.

Also is there a good place that will show the Bayern game? (Does Mary D's show games? And is it a good place to go?)

Watch the Bayern game in The Waldorf (Gore Street, off Piccadilly near to Piccadilly Station) in the city centre - proper real ale beer rather than watered down piss lager served in Mary D's.
On a non match day have a pint on the south side of the city centre in The Temple (Oxford Street), The Peveril Of The Peek (Great Bridgewater Street and a 2 minute walk from The Temple) and then onto The Britons Protection (on Great Bridgewater Street) 5 mins walk from The Pev.
Proper Manchester boozers.

The fella comes on asking for must see places....and you give him a list of boozers....lol.

It really depends on what your interests are but football related you have the History of football museum down at Victoria end of the centre. Great place to go. Then there’s the City ground tour, highly recommended.
If you are into history etc, the Museum of Science and Industry is a great visit. Chethams, John Rylands Library, that sounds boring but definitely isn’t.
Art? The Manchester Art Gallery is worth a visit and used to be free.
Architecture? Most of the old buildings around the City Centre, including Central Library, the Midland Hotel and just a wander round looking at the outside is, to me, fascinating. Some of the new buildings aren’t bad!
There are loads of others, but I’d have to have a think. These were just off the top of my head! :-)

Most of those are not far from the pubs mentioned by @Mad Eyed Screamer so you could visit them and have a pint and a sarnie as your rest between visits! :-)

The Lowry art gallery is a must visit and the Imperial war museum is well worth a visit as well.
Both are in Salford Quays area, tram takes you right there.
The National Football Museum is also well worth a visit down by Cathedral Gardens.
i have not done the Etihad tour but you could always try and book a visit during your stay.
