First Trip To Manchester

Watch the Bayern game in The Waldorf (Gore Street, off Piccadilly near to Piccadilly Station) in the city centre - proper real ale beer rather than watered down piss lager served in Mary D's.
On a non match day have a pint on the south side of the city centre in The Temple (Oxford Street), The Peveril Of The Peek (Great Bridgewater Street and a 2 minute walk from The Temple) and then onto The Britons Protection (on Great Bridgewater Street) 5 mins walk from The Pev.
Proper Manchester boozers.
If you like more modern bars try the Vocation brewery's tap, Society near the Bridgewater Hall. Or Cask in New Islington marina.

Going to add the Museum of Science and Industry if you want the full-on history trip.

The John Rylands Library and the Manchester City Library are worth looking. Also a walk around the Norther Quarter.

Depends how much time you have and your interests.

So I am making my first trip to Manchester, from Canada, for the Leicester game. I will be staying in the city center, I am wondering what are some places you would consider a must see? Besides the Etihad of course.

Also is there a good place that will show the Bayern game? (Does Mary D's show games? And is it a good place to go?)
Don't venture into Blackley, 'cos yer'd never want to leave!

Well those all sound fantastic l. I love my ale and older spots for sure.

I am right by Piccadilly I believe so the Waldorf will be perfect.

Would that be the place to go for the Semi Final as well (hoping it's on the 22nd otherwise I will be in the air and unable to watch it).

I’d hate a visitor to have his first pint in Manchester in The Temple and think that is the best we have to offer.

Literally a shithouse.
