Five things we learnt from Blackburn away

I didn't suddenly 'learn' that Bobby had the universal backing of City supporters. That reception came as no surprise to me. Did it to others?

A few things were reiterated, possibly.
When i went to West Brom away last season was when i learnt that the support and the want for Mancini to do well was there in abundance. That was last November!

I'm not so sure that we are short of strikers.

Until Saturday Balo hadn't started a prem game and we had used Edin and Serg in most games. Last year we usually played with a lone striker. We have 3 players all capable of playing as lone strikers so rotating them will be no problem and when all 3 are fit we can play with 2, as has been the case so far this season.

Nasri gives us the cushion we lacked last year when we needed on Balo to play on the left. Now we can play Samir, Milner or Spanish Dave on the left if needs be and use Balo in the centre.
When NDJ is fully fit we can push Yaya further forward in the advanced role he played last season and that will give us even more attacking options.

I would have been a little more concerned if Sergio’s injury was serious but it looks like he should be fine when we start again after the internationals. And once January comes we can off load Carlos the fickle© and get a 4th striker in who wants to be part of the team.

I'd be tempted to push for a swap for Gonzalo Higuain with Carlos Tevez

Maybe even Cavani? if city qualify ahead of Napoli in the CL? his movement intelligence and positioning against city was fantastic

Also learnt that this season the Fernhurst isn't charging 3 quid to get in after all but the beer tastes like its been watered down
Watering down beer (lager) is 1. illegal and 2. bloody difficult, if not impossible, as the aluminium kegs are pressurised. More than likely they were just selling shit beer, like Carling or Carlsberg.

The trouble with having 4 top class strikers is that at least one of them will struggle to get enough game time and will become disenchanted.

We also played better on saturday with just a single striker. And, after Munich, I think we'll revert back to that as our default line up, especially away. And we have 3 players in Silva, Nasri & Yaya that can play behind the main striker if necessary.

Better to have 3 quality strikers that can all make a contribution IMO.

I also think it shows the difference between Balotelli the left winger, and Balotelli the striker

Every time he's played up front, he looks like he'll score

When he plays out wide he looses interest very quickly. He deserves a run out in the team after his last 2 performances though, hopefully the penny has dropped with him

agree 100%. Just because he can play out there doesn't mean he's great there. Just like how Milner can play out wide, he's not great there either.

Mario is a centre forward for me, not a wide player.

I am unconvinced that Giudetti would get a game other than the Carling Cup side. He has proved nothing to date, and that is probably the reason why we let him out on loan.

How about Van Persie in Jan. He must be well pissed off the way the Arse are sliding away. And half his ex team mates already moved to better things.
Just a thought!

You can but it's more trouble than it's worth and not easy to quickly change to a standard set up if weights and measures come knocking on the door. If they catch you you're knackered.

Lager and cider on draught can taste watered down when the gas is running out. You get a less lively, flatter drink and this can taste watered down.

The atmosphere was great on Saturday and I joined in with all the bobby manc singing he deserves our support and tbh it didn't surprise me he got from all the fans there. Considering the result I thought it was one of our poorer performances this season probably down to cl and changes. Still not sure I would pick Mario over dzeko tbh I think dzeko a better central strikers in terms of he's in the box ready for the cross. When he doesn't play we seem to go through spells were no ones in the box for crosses. Got to say I agree with the point of needing more backup strikers 4 was never enough imo anyway now we are down to 3. I trust bobby tho he's guided us well so far.
