Fixture congestion...

As I said, look at Arsenal 3 weeks ago, going on four fronts. Their fans would LOVE to be in the position we found ourselves in today

I'd rather be 2nd in the league with a game in hand and out of all cups tbh, only my opinion though, of course. It would be interesting to ask Arsenal fans if they would "love" to be scrapping like fuck to stay in the top 4. Incidentally, I suspect you should look up the definition of the phrase small minded.

So you wholeheartedly disagree with playing a "rotated" side tomorrow in order to have a rested squad for the Chelsea game?

Just a bit...........

Johnson and Milner are back for Chelsea, possibly Zabaleta too if he is not involved tommorrow.

Trying to win the Europa league entails us playing more games than the champions league teams and carries less kudos than the other 2 comps.

What do some people want?

I am flagging watching all our games at the mo
fuck knows how the players feel.

We finished our last game in Europe at midnight -9 o c in fucking Russia for christs sake.
It is taking it's toll.
Spreading ourselves too thin is criminal with the squad we have

If a you were to get to the europa league final you would play just two more games than you would getting to the champions league final.

It is a myth that you play alot more games in the europa league.

Your assertion is that people who would rather go out of the Europa league do so because they don't want to win a trophy. My point is that if we stay in both cups we are less likely to win anything and if we go out tomorrow we are more likely to win a trophy (ie The FA Cup). It is all very difficult to prove one way or the other I suppose but to illustrate the point, ferguson plays reserve teams in certain competitions because he thinks it makes them more likely to win trophies in the long run, not less likely. If I watched us and genuinely believed that we could win both cups and get top 4 then I'd be with you but to be honest, I just don't. I honestly believe that if we go much further in Europe that there is a huge chance of just fucking up the lot. I don't take any pleasure in saying that.

What about the year Stretford won the treble and Liverpool the Mickey Mouse treble (swap the FA Cup for the League Cup)???

OK, so let's ''lose'' tomorrow - does it guarentee us a win in the FA Cup? Look at Arsenal - up for the quadrouple 3 weeks ago..... now with only the PL left.
It is the sign of a successful club (or a club on the right lines) that is involved in such competitions at this stage of the season..........

WE ENTER EACH GAME TO WIN...... from now till the end of May......

Success breeds success........... small mindedness breads nothing...

hear hear

I've just looked at the cup fixture dates for the remainder of the season and if we are to get to 2 finals and finish our league fixtures by the 22nd May we will be playing twice a week for the remainder of the season following the upcoming international break. Sorry if somebody has already pointed this out but if we get through on Thursday then April 19th/20th are the only dates available to play Spurs at home and if we have to play Stoke in the FA cup Final then we'll also have to play them 3 days prior to that in the league to get all our fixtures completed.

God how I hope we have to do this!!

April

Sunday 3rd - Sunderland (h)
Thursday 7th - Liverpool (a) EL
Monday 11th - Liverpool (a)
Thursday 14th - Liverpool (h) EL
Sunday 17th - Scum (WEMBLEY)
Wednesday 20th - Spurs (h)
Monday 25th - Blackburn (a)
Thursday 28th - Rangers (a)

May

Sunday 1st - West Ham (h)
Thursday 5th - Rangers (h)
Sunday 8th - Everton (a)
Wednesday 11th - Stoke (h)
Saturday 14th - Stoke/Bolton (WEMBLEY)
Wednesday 18th - Ajax/Twente (DUBLIN)
Sunday 22nd - Bolton (a)

COME ON CITTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I posted this last night but I have tonight realised that Spurs are already playing on 20th April against the Arse so if we are to get through to both finals in the middle of May then fuck knows when we'd play Spurs? I hope we do all we can to win tomorrow though!

So if we stay in both cups we are less likely to win anything yet we are more likely to win something if we go out tomorow?

Have i just logged into the twilight zone?

My assertion is just that, those who want us to go out tomorow simply don't want us to win a trophy.

Staying in competitions means you are more likely to win them.
