Fixture congestion...

Why are some fans talking about rotation?

We don't have a squad to rotate.

Utd, and Arsenal do, we do not. Perhaps in part down to their willingness to play younger players in the League Cup,and FA Cup over the years.

I can't prove it, but I reckon the mainstay of our League teams have played a lot more games than the players of Man Utd and Arsenal. Eg Tevez has played 39 times for City this season and Berbatov 33. Go through the teams and I am sure that you will find the same thing. We are over reliant on players like Tevez, Silva and Toure

In my opinion we should pretty much play the 2nd choice 11 tomorrow and continue to until the tournament is complete.

Here's why.

1) top teams rotate on mass more than we do. That is why we have got a deep squad.use it.
2) the Europa league has now slipped to the bottom of our priorities.
3) I sat down for an hour yesterday after marcspurs post on another thread with regards to fixture congestion and how it might affect the last week of the season and plotted on my year planner how it might plan out. Various possibilities obviously exist depending on spurs in e.c.l. , MCFC in e.l. and f.a.c. Coupled with the added complication of the fact that there is a good possibility we will have to Play both spurs and Stoke in rearranged premier league games. Fuck me boys our task is almost impossible.we could end up with a scenario similar to rangers 3 seasons ago and be left in the position of having to play 4 crucial games in 1 week.

My team tomorrow:-

Hart
Richards. Boateng boyata kolorov

Viera. Barry
swp milner

dzeko balloteli

Why can't this team win tomorrow

So what is wrong with rotating the squad then Wnrh

nothing wrong at all, it is vital, your team though is a second team, that is not rotating, that is full on dismantling the best team for an important cup tie.

Tommorrow if everyone is fit

Lescott, Vieira, SWP and Yaya go out.
Dzeko, Baloteli, Barry and Boateng come in.

Chelsea if everyone is fit

Boateng, Richards, Dzeko, Barry go out
Zabaleta, Milner, Yaya and Lescott come in.

That is rotating and still putting out sides capable of winning you trophies.

Fair do's for resting yaya but tevez and silva and kompany must be 100% sunday

That is rotating and still putting out sides capable of winning you trophies.

So do we rest them for the FA Cup semi because the Spurs game is coming up a few days later?

It is a defeatist attitude to think like that.

Boateng has picked up an injury in training. Zab in Argentina. Milner and Aj not ready to start. Kolo suspended.

So the team pretty much picks itself which is the problem - we can't keep playing the same players every 3-4 days.

But we keep doing it, and then people moan when performances dip.

This is what it's like at the end of the season - teams go out of competitions because they don't have the strength in depth. It's not reflection of the quality of the 1st 11, but of the 2nd 11.

Players can play every 3-4 days now and again.

I am just not that bothered about the europa.
Win thurs win sun option 1
Lose thurs win sun option 2
Win thurs draw sun?
Win thurs lose Sunday. Not an option
