Fixture Congestion

So how did the Rags manage their treble - special dispensation????

they played 63 games that season, from Feburary onwards they played every Tuesday/ Wednesday then Saturday / Sunday till the end of the season.... but didn't have a league cup final to plan for :P

And some people couldn't get their head around me saying I'd prefer a defeat to a draw last night. Still, MP got his reward for playing a strong side with the other results and the draw for the next round. Should be a good opportunity to rest 2 or 3 players.

March 10 1999 Chelsea ( F.A Cup Replay) AWAY Man U won by 0-2

April 3 1999 Wimbledon AWAY Man U drew by 1-1
April 7 1999 Juventus (Champions leaque) HOME Man U drew by 1-1
April 11 1999 Arsenal -------- Man U drew by 0-0
April 14 1999 Arsenal -------- Man U won by 2-1
April 17 1999 Sheff Wed HOME Man U won by 3-0
April 21 1999 Juventus (Champions leaque) AWAY Man U won by 2-3

Almost glad we were in the "old third division" at that time, taking on the mighty Stockport, Macclesfield, oh and York.

We played York? I don't remember that.

Bit of a random place to go so I doubt we took many fans to that match.

I don`t think we`ll make any arrangements or announcements until after Barca away game. That way we`ll see what midweek nights are free,or NOT !! (hopefully)

But that's the point.
By that time, excluding Champions League weeks, there will be 2 available midweek slots with 3 matches to fit in.

Therefore, if we progress in CL to SF's. We won't be able to play the 3rd game.

It MUST be played before then, because nobody knows how far we will go in CL.

Assuming we go all the way in everything:

Remember the Porto game being played the same night as Champions League and being put on at 5 pm
Hope this not an option
that actually could be an option, the problem UEFA have is they don't want anyone taking TV audience away from them

Cheers Hamann, that was the classy way to answer the question I was going to use a load of ****? ***? rag twat.
