Does anyone think the (home) derby time will be moved forward due to the Paul McCartney gig happening at the new arena the same evening?
It will get moved to Sunday because Utd are in the Europa League the preceding Thursday. Kick off was 3.30pm last season due to GMP demands.

A third was pretty much spot on for last season.
By my calculation, 13 of our 38 PL fixtures were played at their originally scheduled times. I’ve included the opening game at Burnley as one of those as it was confirmed for Friday night as soon as the fixtures were revealed. And I’ve also included midweek games where kickoff was moved by up to 30 minutes to accommodate broadcasting requirements.

Oh for the days when it was Sky and ESPN showing live games. The fixtures came out in June. TV fixtures came out in July, giving 12 weeks, August to October. Virgin had the West Coast Line showing 12 weeks of advanced fares enabling cheaper trains and Hotels.
Then along came BT............

Even when they do release the first batch of TV games, most of them are probably going to be subject to change until after the UEFA draws on 29th August.

But I don’t see any reason why it takes them so long to release the TV games for weeks 2 and 3, before the first international break?

They could quite easily have that sorted and released on the same day as the fixtures are announced, as they do with week 1 games.

The current PL champions should always play the first game at home was that once a thing
This myth seems to get brought up every 12 months.
Someone took a detailed look at it here a couple of years ago - until around 2015, it was pretty much a 50/50 split in terms of the champions beginning at home or away since the onset of the PL era. That’s been skewed a little since then as a result of us requesting to be away on the opening weekend of most seasons to allow the pitch more time to recover from summer concerts.

When would we guess the Arsenal home game would land? Can’t see it being a Friday night game which means it’s either 1230/530 Sat or 430 Sunday like last season. Could champions league fixtures the midweek after swing it to Sat rather than Sun?

Sun 4:30

There are no CL fixtures the midweek following the Arsenal game. Based on that, Sunday 4:30pm must be hot favourite.
There are CL games the preceding midweek and that could theoretically move a Saturday lunchtime kickoff to Saturday evening if either team is away on the Wednesday. But I expect that’s moot as Sky rather than TNT is where it will almost certainly be broadcast and they will want it for the late Sunday slot if at all humanly possible.

Carabao round 3 starts that midweek though?

Compared to CL, scheduling of Carabao games is a lot more flexible and can be adjusted to accommodate PL broadcasting requirements.
If UEFA says you're playing a CL game on a Tuesday when the dates are confirmed in August, you're stuck with that and it immediately rules out playing on the preceding Sunday. Carabao ties can be scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday a few weeks ahead of being played depending on what works best for both teams and their other commitments.

Looks like they’re dragging out the announcement of TV games for August and September until the last possible moment.

I’ve long since stopped being bothered about kick off times. Just part of the game these days.

But there’s absolutely no reason why this announcement couldn’t have come within a day or two of the fixtures coming out.

They usually get released ( tv games ) around 35 days before the season starts so my guess is the 12th July

Well according to the chart on here, the last possible day is 5th July, which is in three days.

Fair enough I have been wrong before and will be wrong again but its usually ( roughly ) 5 weeks before the season starts

Anyone know when tickets will go on sale for the first few games?
