Fixtures Calendar - 2025/26

I believe there isn’t any dodgy dealings with the fixture tbf
We know they can put some controls into the process
So all I see is total incompetence which is the norm albeit I think designating fixtures as being easy for CL teams post journeys is a bit inappropriate
The issue is really about scheduling dates and times where the greed incompetence aspects kick on and possibly bitterness directed at City
But the EPL is the weakest player in their own product they are dictated to by SKY TNT and o guess now DAZN jump Masters “how high sir”

2016, I’ve just read, since our last home game on the opening day. Not suggesting any ridiculous conspiracy. It’s probably mainly down to City requesting it.

Still, didn’t realise it was so long since.

We request it most summers because of having concerts on the pitch and needing the extra time to recover. Same this year but because of the North Stand expansion.

It’s wrong that some teams are getting two games at home over the Festive Holiday whilst others get none. We are at home on the 3rd January to the Chavs but I’m expecting that game to be moved to Sunday the day before most people return to work.

I also mentioned earlier our three mid week games in January, February and March are all at home which isn’t good for those who travel, take kids or have work commitments. Only the Rags and Dippers get those three mid week games away meaning they have 17 weekend home games and two over the festive period, that’s no coincidence surely.

As I said still believe it’s just total ineptness no conscience no consistency almost think the EPL is actually some kind of virtual AI driven organisation that is operating from a different dimension to that we are living in or on

It maybe AI but the PL seem to go out of their way to look after their favourite 2 teams. The Christmas games really bug me, a lot of football fans will be off on the projected dates of the 27th and 30th December, you can bet your life the Rags and Dippers will get favourable slots.

United were away at Wolves last Boxing Day at 5.30.

Not sure that’s particularly favourable.

Wouldn't it be nice if, for one year, we said "no concerts", so we could start the season at home? And yes, I realise that us not actually owning the stadium is a problem in that regard. I'm assuming we don't have much say in what the stadium is used for outside of the football season. It's a shame.

City completely control what happens at the stadium. The money from the concerts go to City.

If we said no concerts we'd probably end up getting an away game drawn out the hat anyway.

Do they? That's not what I thought. Aren't Sport England and the City Council the owners of the stadium? And if your point about the club getting the proceeds from concerts is correct, couldn't we say, for one summer, no concerts? How many would there be in an average summer; 3 or 4? We're not exactly short of a few bob!

But for what benefit? I doubt the players care if we are at home first

Concert promoters will pay City a fee for use of the venue and the club will benefit from food/drink sales and car parking but depending on the contract for that event, it would't necessarily be all of the takings from those.
The club wouldn't see a penny of ticket or merchandise sales - it’s a good earner but not worth the millions that some people seem to think.
