Now a second breach on the Bridgewater canal, twice the size of the first
Expensive and tricky to fix, with higher banks needed too.Now a second breach on the Bridgewater canal, twice the size of the first
Looks like it has possibly failed where the River Bollin runs in a culvert beneath the canal. That will cost a serious amount of money and time to fix.Now a second breach on the Bridgewater canal, twice the size of the first
Yes . That`s the Heald Green / Handforth junction just around the corner from me . It`s been flooded often in the past but not to that extent . The MAER was also closed between Styal Rd and the Airport earlier . Not sure on how the Bramhall junction faired as that`s liable to flooding too .A555 near Lakeland (I think), often floods, never seen it anything like this bad though

That's Peel Holdings that owned the the Trafford Centre*. Also owns loads of land all along the canal and the billionaire owner of the same lives in the Isle of Man as a tax exiles. It will indeed
The Bridgewater canal isn’t maintained by the Canal and River trust, it’s owned ultimately by Peel holdings
Ahem, unfortunate turn of phrase in the circumstances. My heart goes out to anyone who lives in a flood area. There can't be anything worse than the damage caused by water in your property and add to that the fact that insurers won't touch you with a barge pole after the first time.
No chance of it being fixed if those tight twats own itIt will indeed
