Florian Wirtz

Let's get Musiala then, he probably doesn't want to share the spotlight with Wirtz, right? RIGHT?

Sorry but he wants Bayern, If his wage demands are too much for us then I can't see Liverpool offering any better considering they are conservative with wages.

Probably does tbf with pep in charge but are cambiasso eze ait nouri the players we need to lead us back to pl and cl wins
I don't think next season is about winning the PL and CL. The rebuild will take longer than a summer. Next season is about getting the good vibes back at the club, going for the League Cup (or FA Cup again), and trying to finish more comfortably than we have this season. Summer 2026 is when the team will aim to be completed, for the 26-27 season.

Where we are right now is roughly where we were during the final season under Pellegrini, 15-16. We had lots of ageing players and some past-it legends who need shifting, we got 65-70 points in the league, and were just about hanging on in the race for CL football in the 16-17 season. That summer was the first little step back to the top, then summer 2017 put the finishing touches in place.

I think players like Ait-Nouri, Eze, Gibbs-White, etc. are currently the kind of profile we should be going for. Young and energetic, they know the Premier League well, they're stand-out players in their current teams, they would understand what Pep wants from them and add to our squad. In addition to players like Cambiaso and Reijnders, they would be sensible additions to the team.

Should we sneak top four this week, I think we get these six lads in, get Rodri back, finish as fairly competitive runners-up (to either Liverpool or Arsenal) in the league, make a good show of ourselves in the domestic cups but fall short in Europe, and then make big moves immediately afterwards. My prediction is that Pep signs off with a PL title in 2027 and bows out.

Even though I think he's got one more PL title in him with City, I actually think it might be worth letting Pep go this summer because he's just beginning the downward slope away from his peak and there are managers like Xavi, Inzaghi, and Enrique available. Right now we're a bit like Arsenal in 2009 and we don't want to get stuck in the "Wenger can turn it around" cycle they did. But I guess Pep's earned the right to try and build something new.

Ederson
Cambiaso Dias Gvardiol Ait-Nouri
Rodri
Eze, Reijnders
Foden, Haaland, Marmoush

[new GK]
Nunes Khusanov Ake O'Reilly (Akanji)
Kovacic (Bernardo)
Gibbs-White, Nico G (Lewis)
Savinho, Bobb, Doku (Echeverri)

That's enough to finish 2nd next season and make a go of it in Europe.

One tweet and everyone is in meltdown. Nobody on here knows why WE (yes, we) have pulled out. Wait until more is known and let's take it from there, eh?
We have pulled out because he wanted bayern and has always wanted bayern, and quite frankly as good as he is, if he is too afraid to leave his home country then he has a good bit of growing up to do.

Kane, Bellingham, Rice, Wirtz...

if we cannot get these at our highest level with Pep in charge, future could be bit difficult in terms of elite transfers. thank God for Alfie and paying off his agents that got us Haaland.
I'd drop Kane from that list because that was simply Levy blocking him. However, the rest of your point stands. I worry a lot about closing the gap with Madrid if we don't have the drawing power to land top tier talent.

he's barely done fuck all in the argentinian league
If you are judging by stats, then that's true. But he'd played 50+ matches over there and was getting better every week.

Scored some belters and tore up the South American u20 tournament (6 goals, 3 assists) before coming to us.

He's among the best in the world, in his position, at his age. Would be a star in the Bundesliga IMO.

Couldn’t believe that anyone actually thought we were gonna get anyway in mean bloody hell he had Bayern written all over him .

Just do like Liverpool did with Bellingham and go buy 3 proven players. The PL has a lot of talented players, who are already used to the league. If Eze has a release clause then just get him

It's got to be something with wage demands. Bayern are paying Kane over £400k a week, that's KDB salary and if he's wanting something between that and what Haaland is making at City? There were rumours we are trying to restructure our salaries, getting rid of top earners. KDB is going, the next guys with big salaries are Grealish, Bernardo, Stones & Gundo so i don't really see the problem. The only other thing i can think is City believe they are being played by Wirtz team.

The only, and i mean only, even semi acceptable alternative is Xavi simons + reijnders + MGW. let's hope the club views this three as "value for money".
