Florian Wirtz

I think everyone here knows how much Wirtz would strengthen us – that’s undeniable. But many are forgetting one crucial point: what happens if we don’t get him? In that case, we’re indirectly strengthening our international rivals. Imagine a duo of Wirtz and Musiala at Bayern or Wirtz at Real Madrid. We want to win the Champions League again, and we simply cannot afford to let these two clubs get even stronger.
Drop 150 Million euros?…

Austin Powers style pause

I can’t stand it. Why spend over £100m on Wirtz when they already have Musiala and are extending his contract? It’s just so greedy. And why do these German kids always want to go to Bayern?

Why not? At least they invest and don’t get weaker? Hoeneß had the DREAM of FC DEUTSCHLAND. They want to go for more German players again in the future like Madrid will go for Spanish ones. Honestly I don’t see Wirtz reaching his full potential there if he isn’t the only #10 but each their own. Musiala - Wirtz - Olise ain’t bad.

I can’t stand it.
Lol. Then sit down and close your eyes and ears so that you do not see or hear it.
Why spend over £100m on Wirtz when they already have Musiala and are extending his contract?
Because Müller is nearing the end of his contract, and Bayern wants someone who can be just as effective—if not more. And who better than Wirtz?

It’s no different from us. Why would we spend that same amount too?
If a player like Musiala or Wirtz were available, we’d want to sign them as a potential KDB replacement, even though we already have Foden. Top clubs always plan for the future, ensuring they remain competitive at the highest level.
It’s just so greedy.
Why is that? Just like Madrid(They are the definition of greed just for the record), just like us, every top club is always looking to strengthen. They aim to stay ahead of the competition, just as you’d expect and want us to do. The only way to maintain that dominance is by signing the best players available when the opportunity represents itself. It’s the nature of football at the highest level—constant evolution and improvement.

Also, let’s not forget—generational talents and phenomenal players like Wirtz and Musiala aim to play for the very best. These players don’t just want to succeed; they want to cement their legacies at the pinnacle of football. And naturally, there’s only a handful of clubs in the world that fit the bill: the top clubs in each league.

Players of this caliber are extremely selective and deliberate about the clubs they choose to join. They have clear visions for their careers and are particular about finding a team that aligns with their ambitions, playing style, and long-term goals.

No matter how subjective or emotional it might seem from the outside, it ultimately comes down to their personal choices—it’s their career, their future, and their legacy at stake. We can’t force them to choose a club that doesn’t match their aspirations or align with what they feel is best for their development.

Top talents like these are not just looking for big contracts; they’re looking for the right environment, the right system, and the right stage to showcase their abilities. It’s a deeply personal decision, and as fans, all we can do is hope that our club is part of their vision.

City, Barca, Madrid, Bayern—these are the elite destinations that players of their caliber aspire to. These clubs offer not just trophies but also the platforms, challenges, and global recognition that come with being at the absolute top. For talents like Wirtz and Musiala, joining such clubs isn’t just about ambition—it’s about being where their extraordinary abilities can truly shine and be tested against the world’s best.

Whether you like it or not, Bayern remains an elite and highly attractive club, particularly in the eyes of German players. It’s a club with a rich history, consistent success, and a dominant presence in both domestic and European football. For many German talents, Bayern represents the pinnacle of their career aspirations.

And why do these German kids always want to go to Bayern?
Ehhh, umm... maybe it’s because they’re German and they do not want to leave their home country?

Maybe it’s because Bayern is the best club in Germany and they want to play and represent the best club of their home country?

Maybe it’s because they grew up dreaming of playing for a German superclub like Bayern?

And maybe, just maybe, they were fans of the club as kids—and probably still are.

Haaland came to us because, as a child, he was a City fan—and he still is! Sometimes, it’s that simple. Dreams and loyalties can shape careers more than anything else.

Do I want Wirtz? Absolutely, yes.

Do I want Musiala? Without a doubt, yes.

If they both wanted to come to CITY, would I want that? 100%, yes.

Would I be disappointed if neither came? I’d be absolutely shattered.

Are they likely to come to CITY? The chances are very slim—but I still hold onto hope!

Now, let’s say both of them actually wanted CITY. Would you take them?

And would you call it greed if it benefits CITY or you as a fan?

I could understand. it's like choosing to play for Madid or Barca. What's not to like! 5/6 sort of more difficult games in the league per season, lots of rest and pretty much guaranteed Semi's of CL, Balon Dor Nominations, medals & good money.

It could all hang on his personality, I think. He would have to have, or demonstrated he had, the character to fit in to our dressing room mentality. Look at Kev - he could have gone anywhere in the last 10 years. No, he chose to come to a disrespected, anti establishment (beautiful) football club in a poor area of the UK. Sergio- same, David - same, Rods - same, Bernie - same. Those guys strike me as not wanting to do things the easy or established way. More difficult - but with more rewards psychologically.

If he has those characteristics, he's half way here, or .....

Of course I could be talking complete bollocks.

The club will know if he wants to come to England or stay in Germany with Bayern.

If he is up for coming to us and the PL, just do the deal, he is a generational talent and for those you don't mess about, just pay the required amount to get the deal done.

Pep staying has made the deal very possible for me, now Txiki has to pull this one off , what a wonderful leaving present for the club.
