Why would he do that? I don’t get it. Does he want to lower the fee for Bayern and put a release clause in? Because we could certainly pull that fee off.

Can we arrange trials for our targets and test them out against packed defences?

Teams only seem to play with packed defences against us, so until they rock up at the Etihad we have to wait and see or, use the stats and scouting to work out if they have the skill set to do it. I assume that is the point you are making?

The only way to beat packed defences is to have runners off the ball getting in behind and the creative players in the team finding them with the perfect pass and with perfect timing. Musiala and Wirtz show both these skills, being creative and being intelligent off the ball and making the runs and we need that from midfielders and wingers as they need to join the striker, in this case Haaland at causing chaos in the opposition defence.

Personally I think what we miss the most is passing in behind the defence from wide areas. Defenders don’t like facing their own goal do they? As witnessed today against the rags…Amad Diallo goal and Gvardiol finding it difficult to try and get it clear and the ball ending in the net. Unfortunately our attacks seem to be in front of the defence.

Oh and Bobb has the same ability.

German media saying Wirtz has already signed an extension.

Ive always felt any English club trying for Wirtz or Musiala are pissing in the wind.

Too often fans see through the prism of their own biases, from your point of view Man City is the northstar. But put yourselves in Musiala and Wirtz position, why would two young German kids playing for the best teams in Germany, have a strong desire to live in Manchester? Whatever superlatives you use to describe Manchester City..............they dont see it like you do

Quite, but I wouldn't think they'd want to live in the shithole that is London either. Don't think having to wear a stab-proof vest every time you leave the house really floats their boat.

Yeah they probably dont want to live in London either.

anyways, reputable German journos saying Florian has penned an extension with Leverkusen. He wouldn't have done that unless he was intent on staying.

Wirtz as a transfer target this summer is dead in the water
 
Best outcome that’s he’s signing the new deal (other than City signing him ofc)

Can move on nice and early to other targets

He’s playing for the club he supports. Why would he rush to move anywhere? Maybe he’ll never move anywhere. I know I wouldn’t if I played for City, even if I could sign for teams better than the imaginary City one I played in.
 
The situation at the moment is unprecedented under this ownership. It is unthinkable that they cannot realise how the quality of the squad has fallen and they will act.

Plenty have come so I don’t see why not. Usually the cash and Pep does the trick.
 
Once you’ve made millions, are with one of the best clubs in your home country (whom you already supported!) and have your National Team spot nailed on, why would you wander off to anywhere else, let alone England, where you’ll get kicked to death, flogged like a coal miners donkey, and worse?!

I’m sure he has an absolutely brilliant life for a young man his age and there’s not a reason in the world to upset that apple cart!
