Agreed. He’s in no rush
Same with the likes of Musiala, people forget how young they actually are
 


So, what do we make of this extension? It seems like Leverkusen wouldn’t want to let him go to Bayern next summer, prioritizing a move abroad instead. Could he have decided to extend with a release clause to secure this boring move to Bayern after the World Cup eventually?

Or do we still stand a chance next summer?

I think the chances of getting him are increasingly remote. Bayer Leverkusen would rather we had him than Bayern, but ultimately they want to keep him. Bayern are occupied with keeping Musiala but he won't come cheap. I think Bayern will wait another year before banging their fist on the table and taking him in 2026. They might face stiff competition from Real Madrid. But I think 12 more months followed by an enormous offer from Bayern will tempt Leverkusen. I don't think we would be the player's preferred destination.

His current contract runs out 2027, extend it by a year with better pay. Sell him after the 2026 WC maximise his price if he has a good World Cup with 2 years still left on contract. Doubt he will have a release clause.
 
This is the player we need to go for....dont care how much it costs or who else is in for him.....We have to get over the ickle city mindset...just casuse Mardid or Bayern maybe after him doesnt mean we shouldnt be all over this like a rash - even if it means chucking ridiculous amounts of money around.....

Id literally sell or let leave Grealish, Gundo and KDB, Rico Lewis, Nunes to get this guy on the books...the amount of money we would save on letting that lot og on wages would be immense...

This is the type of player you build a whole team around....

hopefully the club dont think like that......again the ickle city way of thinking has to stop... we have to think like Bayern and Madrid when it comes to transfers
 
Got to assume we are still interested and it will probably cost more to tempt him to come to City if we are out of the Champions League places. The only real deal ending scenario is relegation.
