Florian Wirtz

At 22 in couple of days the lad will listen to his dad! Then it be up to Leverkusen to get as close to what we are offering.. so Cherki it is..

Who you reckon is our next player maker to buy?
from the links so far, id think Sara & Trincao are ahead on the list. Very slim chance they move Phil inside and go for Rodrygo. Dont see Cherki even being on it.

I think we will do what we did with Kompany and Aguero and not rush the situation and wait a year if we have to and evaluate the market then.

Musiala release clause active next summer as an example. Maybe the club will go on the charm offensive next season to get him.

Feels like Wirtz has Bayern written all over him, doesn’t it? Only real question is whether they’ll pay what BL can get from other clubs, like us? For a player of his profile and a 10 year investment, it looks like a no brainer.

If you played in a 2-3 team league and you knew your manager was leaving, and you knew the German National Team Bayern Munich, with the deepest pockets, in one of the great European cities, where you wouldn’t have to live and raise a family abroad, desperately wanted you to be their new star, why wouldn’t you???

Honestly can’t understand why a player wouldn’t test themselves. Eric Dier has looked half decent in that shitty league. Grow a pair

I’ve got no idea what the article actually says since it’s behind a paywall, but these last few days have been disappointing — constant links to Bayern, and now we’re not even being mentioned anymore.

Honestly, so damn frustrating.

The fact that he doesn’t realize he has no real chance at a Champions League with Kane, Musiala, Olise, and Wirtz is staggering for a supposedly intelligent player.

This just isn’t an attack that’s going to win the Champions League — simple as that.

It is pretty straight forward. It is the flagship brand in his home country. More times than not people take the softest path. It’s human nature.

The anti-Cityesque side of me believes that we wouldn't have told KDB so early that he wasn't getting a contract renewal, if we weren't going balls deep, and were really hopeful of landing someone of quality like Wirtz.

True but we did the same thing with Aguero as we thought we were getting Kane.

Get the feeling that if Wirtz really wants Bayern he may have to wait until 2026 but if he’s keen to go this summer we are right in the mix.

I think even if we don't sign anyone, but have Rodri & Oscar Bobb fit with little trust of Echeverri, we can compete.

As talented as he blatantly is, over £100m and £400k wages for somebody who isn’t close to KDB’s Wolfsburg form is a risk.

He also seems to have little ambition, if he did he’d be pushing for City, Liverpool or Madrid, Barca.

If we’re in the business of throwing away that much money, much rather we tested Barcelona for Pedri, as unlikely as that would be.

Twice the player.

What's the stats for Kdb last season at Wolfsburg compared to Wirts?

He got 10 goals and 20 assists, an assist record that stood until Muller narrowly beat it a few years ago with 21.

Wirtz had I think 11 and 11 last season, slightly worse this year but the season isn’t finished and Leverkusen aren’t as good.

I wonder how much KDB would go for back then in today’s market.

Ah right thanks there is only one Kdb in a generation
