Yep I don’t doubt that. I wasn’t criticising the club for missing out on them. It was the poster who was laughing at people for thinking that City may not know exactly what is going on.

I was just stating it happens all the time through no fault of our own.

Yeah, as I said to another poster, I’m not blaming city for being shafted by people. I was responding to a poster who said it was funny that people thought city weren’t aware of exactly where they stand. I was giving examples of times where they thought they knew exactly where they stood and they were wrong,
 
I imagine it is part of the daily routine for clubs to be part way through deals that then fall through, for any number of reasons. The problem now is that social media reports EVERYTHING, true or false, so it looks like we are wasting our time, constantly, when probably only a fraction of those deals were ever on the table.

I disagree re not needing world class players, we don’t need a full squad of them but having 3-5 in your starting 11 can be the difference between winning silverware and not.

We don’t need to act like Real Madrid but we can’t let Viana treat us like Sporting either. We play in the best league, can pay top wages, offer champions league football every year and are serial winners. We shouldn’t be settling for system players who aren’t top quality.

Our older players were all world class in their prime. We do need to trust Viana but he also needs to be aware we didn’t settle when we signed our aging stars and we shouldn’t settle now.

Just listening to Sam Lee on the Athletic podcast that came out 7 pm yesterday he says that after talking to his contacts again yesterday it’s got to the point where he would be surprised if Wirtz did not go to City.

Nothing Is decided and everyone has a different take.

He’s not the only one. Plenty of people feel Wirtz wants City. Think we’ll know by first week of a June.
