We'll have to see what City plan in the market. We know we need full backs, we know we need creative midfielders who add goals and assists and ideally we could do with a winger that will goals aswell. That's alot to potentially spend to rebuild this team.

Fair play if Liverpool get Wirtz though. They've gone aggressive in the transfer market and appear to be nailing their targets, probably something we should've done after winning the treble.

Agree we have replaced Toure, Aguero, Silva, Kompany, Fernandinho - there was no replacing like for like on any of them but we havent done bad since

MGW probably comes in on a third of the wages though, making the total package half the cost of Wirtz, leaving space for another player.

MGW in a harder league on a worse team has 7 goals and 10 assists in 33 league games.
Wirtz in an easier league for a better team has 10 goals and 13 assists in 31 league games.

So you're not even getting close to double the output either.

I'm not saying MGW is the answer either, not completely convinced but I trust the clubs financial judgement, they've hit more times than they've missed on transfers.

Trouble is, 2 of them weren’t interested in joining City. Same is likely true of Wirtz and, whether anyone likes it or not, there is bugger all you can do about that.
 
just forget about MGW, he is player we would use in rotation not as a starter. talk about regulars that come into City first 11 and start week in week out. it would take 3 months til Pep says he aint clever enough for us to be a midfielder and then try to find space for him from the wing, like look he can win freekicks and stuff like that.
