Florian Wirtz

The fucking drama on here is obscene, has this Wirtz fella got a gold card in the panini pantheon of bestest ever players ever ever?

When schools out this thread is going to be a train wreck of epic proportions :)
I had to leave last nite, the pathetic drama was absolutely draining, some people shouldnt be allowed on the internet its clearly not good for their mental wellbeing

Liverpool have been spending like Bournemouth past 7 years and still competed in everything, if they start spending like us and chelsea, do you'll think they will start monopolising the league

Perhaps the maths doesn't work for City. Buy Wirtz at a huge cost you can't do much else. Buy MGW you buy a very effective player and can still do other things.
It helps that Liverpool don't need a complete re-build, we do.
I trust the club to get more right than wrong

Yes and Kyle Walker won young player of the year instead of Aguero in 2012. It means nothing.

This season Foden has been piss poor but even at his best, he doesn't compete with KDB at his best.

If it's top 6 we're after MGW is the man. I just assumed our ambitions were greater than that
Nobody who isn't called Messi compares to KDB at his best. He was a monster.

Foden is an incredible talent whose goals helped us to the title last season.

Once he regains his form he'll be the best attacking midfielder in the league again.

I was like that earlier to the point I was going to fuck it off for the day, but then I just decided to openly point and laugh at each pathetic post I see on my phone. One can only presume they’re rags or dippers on the wind up, despite literally nothing having happened yet either by us, Wirtz or Liverpool

Doesn’t take much for people to act like raggy spoilt and very forgetful cunts on here.

DId we ? be interested to see who was signed every post champions window.
We used to do our business early. Until we started chasing players like Bellingham Rice and Wirtz who all had no interest in joining - and wasted weeks of planning time.

Then we had the time wasted chasing Paqueta when obvious no due diligence had been done.

Used to be class operators - now it’s amateur hour.

The January tfr window was a disgrace. £200m spent - Reis Khusanov Echeverri Nico and Bah won’t get 50 starts between them in their City careers

You don't win anything with a team full of players at Ake's level. He's been a decent squad player when fit.

Of course there's no guarantees but there's a reason why Munich & Liverpool are linked with Wirtz and not Morgan Gibbs White
I wasn't suggesting a team of AKE level players, but making the point that with him, we won a lot, proving you don't need 11 superstars to make the best team.

MGW may or may not join and he may or may not prove to be successful, but if we get him, lets judge him for what he actually brings to the table not simply on comparison with another player

Yeah but apart from that.

If we don't get Wirtz it'll be like the day take that said they were breaking up.

I started searching for FW in news then thought feck it, I'll ask!

If and that's a big if does indeed sign for Dips it's more than annoying.

Yes but I'm not a big fan of these £100m+ signings. Too much can go wrong. PSG look a lot better now they've abandoned the policy of signing the likes of Neymar, Mbappe and Messi. And Real Madrid signing Mbappe hasn't improved them. No coincidence PSG and Inter are CL finalists. For me, the future lies in signing the right cogs for the machine rather than the biggest available star.

The money saved on Wirtz won’t upgrade the whole squad as some fantasists seem to think. We will have our pants pulled down by every other club we negotiate with who know we are desperate.

Starting with MGW - 25 years old and 2 England caps and dreadful goals assist record - yet the fee will be eye watering and take multiple bids before Forest would sell.

Anybody thinking we are gonna start pulling rabbits out of hats haven’t been paying attention to our car crash signings last 5 transfer windows.

And for City to start claiming moral high ground over value when most of the £200m we spent in January has hardly had a sniff of any action, and have just given a player a 9year £500k per week contract is a piss take.

It’s becoming an annual event that our first choice elite player option has no interest in joining. Might be an idea to try and understand why ? My guess it’s not hard for the rival clubs to smear us in their negotiations and the draw of Pep when he is close to leaving is not the same.
Apt user name and, if I'm not mistaken, that line has been used before on you

Fuck me your username really does add up.

Scott McTominay has been Napoli's best midfielder and he's fucking shite so that tells you all you need to know about Serie A.

Foden, for as good as he's been, will never reach KDB levels. That's just delusion at it's finest.

Livramento is bang average.

Gibbs White is also bang average.

All well and good signing these players but where's the world class players to supplement them?
Firstly KDB is tier 1 prem of all time with Henry.

The way he’s done it and how he’s completely taken over a generation means he’s the very best. 1000’s of players have come to the prem and never reached that height. Kev is our greatest player of all time and even if Foden was in that conversation but not as considered the best you can always say he never lived up to KDB. What type of argument is that? That’s like Barca saying a player won’t be as good as Messi ffs.

These aren’t bang average players they are players ready to take the next step. Something we’ve built a dynasty around. Training under one of the greatest ever, with exceptional players which some are world class, playing the very best teams means players develop. Especially when the very best is demanded from them. If they take that step then they are great signings.

We are Manchester City, not Real Madrid. I don’t want us to sign primadonna’s that want a new contract every summer. I want us to sign players that fall in love with the club, the fans etc. That know the club support them wholeheartedly. Look at Bernie when he scored the other day. That’s what we want. Not an Mbappe sulking every day of the week.
