Florian Wirtz

Wirtz clearly a top talent but they’ll have to evolve the way they play to get the most out of him…no more kick and rush.

I think if we are astute in the transfer market we will run them close whoever they sign…

It would be nice for once if another club was stung in a transfer saga that was all sewn up only to fall through at the end.

Seems like it’s only us who this happens to (Sanchez, Messi and Kane)

Everyone else just boxes people off and gets them done.

I feel like if we were in the position Liverpool are with Wirtz now, there would still be a chance something goes wrong down the line. Whereas Liverpool will pull this off with minimal fuss and most likely for less than €140mil.

Agreed

Even so, we don't wanna see a top player like this kid join one of our rivals if the only reason for that is that we weren't prepared to pay what was needed

It's been going on too long this policy of tryna snag players on the cheap. Pep's genius has mitigated our transfer failings - the board should repay him by paying top dollar for world class talent, if they still can

Completely agree. Why do we have to make things more difficult than they need to by always trying to save money? We won’t always have Pep, then it’ll be more difficult to attract the very best. We should give him the best players to work with when they become available - sometimes in exceptional cases that should mean we push the boat out a bit on wages/transfer fees.

We’ve obviously done well anyway, but I can’t help feeling if we’d ever signed any one of van Dijk, Bellingham or Rice we’d probably have at least one more title, CL and/or FA Cup. I hope we don’t regret not signing Wirtz.

Liverpool were rejected by Zubimendi at the last minute, after also being rejected by Bellingham and spanked by Chelsea over Caicedo & Lavia.

Liverpool aren't bothered about the transfer fee, his wages, and his agent parent wages, because it's the Coutinho transfer money again.
I can’t wait for the media and rivals to lump in his wages and say it cost £400m like all the bastards did with Haaland.

But more likely it’ll be celebrated as a world class player coming to the PL and Liverpool doing it in a holistic way.
