Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Juan Manuel Marquez

A boxing lession tonight by Money. Marquez has some balls taking the fight on and showed just how hard he is to take some of those shots. I didn't think Marquez got beaten by what the judges said I think Marquez won 3 rounds out there. Mayweather showed real class for any young fighter out there just look at Mayweathers defensive skills out there. The art to bob and weive and protect himself he has the best defence in the world of boxing maybe of all time. To be out of the ring for so long and come back like that is amazing still lighting fast as well. Manny wont take Mayweather on after that fight. Marquez got the better of Manny in there first fight and to see Money fight like that on his return it may never happen.

As for Mossley and Hopkins at the end of the fight it was a fucking joke. I thought it was bad coming in the ring like that I am surprised Money didn't lash out there. A Mossley fight looks the way to go before the year is out depending on who wins the Cotto Manny fight. Mossley didn't look to good in his last fight and I think this will be a step too far for Mossley if my memory is right he was behind on the cards going into the final rounds and KO'd Margaritio he wont get away with that against the best pound for pound fighter in the world.

As they say money talks in boxing and Bob Arum Mannys promoter wont do a deal with Mayweather so it is the only fight out there for Mayweather even though I think Manny will avoid the fight. When Cotto wins I think this fight could be made and would be a great fight to watch Cotto is Mayweathers hardest test out there and hopefully they get it on.
It was Mayorga who he was behind against. Well we all thought he was but 2 judges had him up. Margarito was his last fight and Shane dominated him big time. Although Margarito didn't have concrete in his gloves so that might have been why he lost.lol.

I think Shane gives Mayweather problems with his speed although i expect Mayweather to win it. I think Cotto is probably his hardest fight. But i don't think we'll see it because i think Pacman will beat him.

There's no doubting Mayweather is a fantastic boxer, I'd like him to fight someone who is actually a natural in his weight category though, beating up on guys who have climbed a couple of divisions to meet you isn't cutting it for me. Have Mayweather boxing someone who is a natural at 2 weights above him (and one of the best boxers at that weight) and then maybe we'll see what he's made of.

What about Oscar De La Hoya? He'd just come off a crushing win over Mayorga

Carlos Baldomir was linear Champ at welter when Floyd beat him and although shit, he was still the champ. Plus he had at least 40lbs on floyd.

Paul Williams is probably the hardest fight for him given his size, but he doesn't sell tickets so it will never happen.

De La Hoya was past his best at that point, and some thought he beat Mayweather, certainly one of the judges did. Baldomir was, as you say, shit.

Mayweather overall is better than Oscar imo..... if he was natural at Oscars weight he would have made it look easy, because Oscar was "bigger" it obviously made it hard for him

That's (kind of) my point. Mayweather beat Marquez fairly easily, but Mayweather was a natural at the weight they fought at (a weight he failed to make by 4 pounds) whereas Marquez normally fights two weight divisions below that. Any potential gap in talent between Mayweather and Marquez was magnified by the "natural" difference in weight.

Ono top spot only noticed it there. Mayorga and Margarito got the 2 fights mixed up big time. Shane has no chance against Money. Cotto or Pacman would be a good fight but when Money beats Pacman will people have a excuse for him doing that being Pacman natural weight could well be Lightweight to Light Wealter weight now. If it happens I think Money could get down to Light welterweight but I see it happening at Welterweight. Cotto is a natural Welterweight so if Cotto KO's Pacman will people come down hard on Cotto no they wont. Mayweathers next fight may well be against Mossley before the end of the year so for a Mayweather Cotto or Pacman fight it wont happen till next year at the earliest.

I can't figure out how Shane struggled so badly against Mayorga. I really can't. I guess styles make fights! I'd say Cotto is a more natural welter than Mayweather to be honest and i agree nobody will give Cotto any crap about beating the smaller guy (if he beats Pac). I reckon we're looking at Mayweather-Mosely (probably Feb/March) although it would make more sense for it to be December so the winner can fight Cotto/Pac. I just can't see Mayweather getting back in the ring this year with it being mid/end september now. Shame really because the winner of Pac/Cotto will end up taking a tune-up before fighting Mayweather. The mega-fight we're all wanting probably won't happen until next summer imo.
