Foden back in training / on the plane to Munich

Heard someone on 5Live say Foden's chances of being a starter for England have been hindered because he's only ever played for Guardiola! He's only used to playing one way!

Seriously do they listen to themselves?????
Yeah playing regularly for one of the greatest managers ever has hampered his England career.

If only Pep was more like Southgate?????????????????
They weren't saying that with any youth players that came through under the GPC.

Rub some sudocreame on it he'll be reet
I wonder if they have been aware of this for awhile possibly a “grumbling appendix” and an operation was planned for the summer, remember he was ill the night before the spuds game might be unconnected though?
Bottle of lucazade and straight to bed

The problem is that you cannot eat well after this for at least a week... I had a roommate done a key hole one years ago and I remembered learn to cook soft food for him... Lost 15pounds in 2 weeks.

This varies a lot from person to person. I’ve had many many surgeries on my digestive system including appendix out and it has varied substantially even between surgeries for me. The anaesthetic itself impacts appetite but also your gut has to reset because (as my surgeon used to say) if you so much as look at it the wrong way it will seize up, they’ve gotten much better at managing this recently though.

In about 2003 I had a major surgery that I reacted badly to and I couldn’t eat for 28 days, lost about 30% of my body weight.

I then had another one of similar complexity in 2010 and I was absolutely fine and eating normally within a couple of days. Didn’t lose any weight at all.

Appendectomies are fairly routine these days providing there’s no sepsis and it doesn’t burst. I would imagine he could be in and out and eating fairly normally within the week (maybe with some nutritional adjustments). He is under the best care available so I’d be shocked if this ruled him out for more than a few weeks.

Now let's get this right.
A couple of days in hospital.
A couple of weeks to recover from the op.
A further week to fully recover from the effects of the hospital food.
So about 3 - 4 weeks total.

;- )

I've had, and performed, similar surgery. I reckon he will be comfortable enough to play in 3-4 weeks. The problem will be the drop off in fitness that comes from sitting around for 3-4 weeks.
