If you’re a professional footballer that “loves” a club, but will listen to offers anywhere else, that “love” is meaningless.

If you are a professional footballer that loves his boyhood club over everything else, then salary is meaningless.

If you are an elite professional footballer that loves his club, where his ambitions are matched, then the contract was always going to be signed, just at the level that both were willing to accept.

I reckon there was about a 0.1% chance of him leaving because we didn’t offer him enough wages.

I disagree with that. Being a fan of a club is different than playing for them.

Should jack have stayed at Villa, does the fact that he left mean he doesn't love Villa anymore ?
 
He can win that PL Young Player again this year nobody to touch him unless you count Martinelli or Saliba but I think neither have been as good all round.
