Recently i've been going to my local butchers which is in Devon and been getting lamb and mint pasties. Divine!!!

Lamb and mint and mushroom pie might be worth a go soon aswell.

Anyone have any particular favorites they tend to get?

We normally get pieces of rump steak from our local butchers, once you've tried them there's no going back to the shitty tesco steak. We also get these kebab sticks which are long cocktail sticks with gammon and Chinese chicken on. Only £1.50 as well

summerscales in chadderton top draw butchers...gammon steaks, lamb and mint burgers, proper cooked ham (not this shite from the supermarkets)rag puddings..spend a 3rd world debt a week in there but well worth it

I go here http://www.noelchadwick.co.uk/index.html, top staff and the meat is all locally produced...they keep some top quality real ales also to have with that huge steak you just bought.

Try to get all my meat from local butchers - Asda's is full of water and frying a steak can easliy turn into boiling it if you don't tip the water out half way thorugh cooking it.

I try to get as much veg as I can off the market too, despite what the adverts suggest it isn't always cheaper to shop at a supermarket especially for fruit, veg and meat.

I hate the supermarkets, Tesco just opened a mini store 25 yards from a local family run grocers/general store that's been there since the 60's. No doubt that'll be another small business run into the ground.

about every 3 weeks or so,get a full lorne sausage.
Cost £6.99 for roughly 20-25 SQUARE SAUSAGE.
Always get the steak slice though.

Now we're nearly into winter,be difficult getting Haggis.
Far too cold for the bastards to come out.
