Football is fixed blog

Going to be interesting to see if there's any iffy decisions in the battle to stay up.
It will be interesting to see how many times Salah is allowed to punch/kick another player before the end of the season.

The issue for me is Mike Riley

If anyone has seen the reffing of the United v Arsenal match which resulted in the end of the Invicibles run of matches would have to be blind to suggest that it was anything other than corrupt and the ref that day was Mr Riley

The referees are never held to account no matter how poor they are and they are very few in number which creates an old boys network where a small number of referees are beholden to Riley for his largesse and this creates the potential for corrupt practices. The whole state of refereeing in this country should be reviewed and an open and transparent system put in place for the appointment of referees with peer reviews and relegation and promotions should be enabled to ensure those that are making regular and clear mistakes are demoted and therefore no longer receiving wages whilst others are promoted

This should not be at the behest of one individual but unfortunately the media in this country is controlled by Sky and they have no interest in upsetting their golden goose its just a shame that the rest of the media have gone along with this situation. Like FIFA no one person should be allowed to control an organisation without independent audit otherwise corruption can infect.

It is has been legally proven that football has been corrupted in the past why should the UK be immune to such processes

A lot of talk on here about no proof, speculation etc but often circumstantial evidence (when repeatedly offered regarding the same offender) is damning. Further more in the case of someone like Mike Dean there is additional solid proof as well. His performance on Sunday in the game against Huddersfield was one of the poorest we've had this season and there have been many.
Let's look at what we have on Dean and what can/can't be proven.
From the FIF blog and other sources:

2005 - banned for supplying info to Arbitros - a tipping firm (TRUE: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2005/apr/08/newsstory.sport9 )

2006 - removed from FA Cup Final over concerns of bias towards Liverpool (TRUE: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2006/apr/24/newsstory.facup200506 )

2006 - extreme bias against Arsenal and Wenger initiated (SPECULATIVE: http://untold-arsenal.com/archives/1253 - https://www.101greatgoals.com/news/mike-dean-v-arsenal-really-fares/ - https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/f...Dean-is-Arsenals-least-favourite-referee.html

2008 - officiated most fixed final of recent years with Harry Redknapp victorious (UNPROVEN: no data to suggest any wrongdoing on the part of the referee)

2015 - Arsenal fans try to petition parliament over Dean (TRUE: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/f...an-Mike-Dean-from-refereeing-their-games.html )

(not FIF) 2015 - serially accused of over the top gestures (celebrations!) (? Attention seeking and a bit of a laugh https://www.101greatgoals.com/top-s...-5-premier-league-goal-celebrations-pictures/ - )

2016 - moved house so he could referee Liverpool and Everton games (? Could be true this article suggests he lives North Wales https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36075347 )

2017 - suspicious betting patterns on Liverpool and Everton matches under Dean (as both referee and 4th official) (? No info on betting patterns but he was demoted after 2017 derby https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/derby-ref-mike-dean-demoted-12472259 )

(not FIF) 2017 - demoted to EFL after criticism of performances in PL (TRUE: http://www.marca.com/futbol/premier-league/2017/01/18/587f3f5a46163f3e158b46a4.html )

2018 - SE Asian bookmaker links exposed and PGMOB exclude Dean from future matches involving Merseyside teams following revelations by Football is Fixed (? No evidence, Citation required)

That Dean listing isn't really very convincing. An early issue is strong, the removal from a cup final seems valid but not unknown, a demotion after a bad match or two but much of the rest is either wholly speculative or irrelevant (who cares if Arsenal fans started a petition - it doesn't prove anything).

Anyone know the odds on Swansea beating Stoke 2-0 and us beating saints 8-0...?

It would more likely be 5-0 And 5-0. But as Southampton have the better Goals scored record, I think it is unlikely - especially as Southampton will park the bus from becoming to end of this game.
