Football Leaks/Der Spiegel articles

You are correct re our approach to date but if we are not careful this will raise its ugly head every six months and cast a long shadow over our brand and achievements. We need to draw a line under it.
And every time it's raised it becomes less and less effective as it's less of an issue. Anyone that dislikes us for it already disliked us etc etc. Even the resident rabid gooner in work's reaction to this was "Yeah well, if there was anything to be done about City it would have been done ages ago". People that are actually clued up about finance (potential commercial partners etc) would see that article and think "and what's so wrong with that?". New fans won't care either, just as they've never cared about Barca and Madrid's state aid and tax evasion etc etc etc.

Surely this saga is a game of bluff. If UEFA try to sanction us on the back of stolen or hacked documents they know it will be blown out of the water in any legal action by City. They must also know that we have deep enough pockets to challenge the entire structure of FFP and if we did this the whole corrupt enterprise would come tumbling down. That said if this did happen it would be a lose-lose situation for both parties. Any legal battle would drag on for years and would damage City's brand..even if we won.
It is in both parties interests to bury this whole episode which won't be easy given the political pressure from the Cartel clubs.

Its every 2 weeks at the moment the rehash uefa should put it to bed once and for all but that K@ant Gill wont want to.

FFPR were, and still are, controversial and UEFA's machinery for the examination of clubs' accounts is a highly sensitive area. There must be complete unanimity at UEFA that the proper place for such an examination is not in the pages of a German newspaper, especially one with such a tarnished reputation. UEFA must stand on the principle that club's accounts are only to be examined at those times and by those bodies established by these rules. New investigations are not to be triggered because the circulation of a publication are served by the inflaming of its public opinion. And UEFA cannot wish to give any inkling that it is prepared to see hacking or any other criminal acts encouraged in the name of its rules. Der Spiegel has to be very careful and so does UEFA.

That can't possibly be true, Der Spielgel spoke to him and he stated he's not a hacker therefore nothing was stolen...

John, though, says he has no desire to comment on "all the nonsense that gets printed in some newspaper." He repeatedly stresses that neither he nor any of his comrades-in-arms is a hacker. "We have very good sources and a strong network that provides us with a lot of information," he says.

A bit of a bummer the Portuguese are going to investigate- they have a reputation for being hopeless. If the US managed this they’d hold this little twats feet the flames and get him to tell them whose behind this. The Portuguese will give him a three month community order and not bother to get to the bottom of this. I think there are a few major players involved in this - Gill, Hoerness maybe but the Portuguese won’t get to the bottom of it.
