Football Leaks/Der Spiegel articles

I still don't get where they feel they have a case to be outraged. The rules were never supposed to stop fair investment for a club in a position to do so(they lied to the football world about that). One season in to when FFP really came into effect, City had already won their first PL title, were in a fairly modern stadium able to sell naming rights, were planning to build a state of the art training complex with naming rights available. Are they seriously arguing City weren't in the summer of 2012, in a brilliant position to attract sponsors and well worth their current deal?

They keep going on about the performance of Etihad Airways and the other Abu Dhabi companies, is why the sponsorship is fake and wrong too. The fact that Sheikh Mansour with his club as champions, with so much going for it, instead of attracting a new sponsor, wanted to leverage City's position to help Etihad Airways. It's not that hard to grasp is it? That's the reason companies bother to sponsor at all to begin with, it's advertising and brand recognition and so on.

I'm trying to get my head around the whole Etihad thing, starting since we were taken over in 2008, so correct me if I'm wrong anyone:

Etihad became our shirt Sponsor in May 2009 at a value of £20m per season to begin with. That was more than we worth worth at the time but £20m a year isn't ludicrous, especially for a club that needed investment.

In July 2011, The City of Manchester Stadium was set to become The Etihad Stadium. City announced a new deal with Etihad Airways for a new sponsorship deal worth £400m over 10 years. It extended the Shirt Sponsorship, added Stadium naming rights and included the eventual Etihad Campus naming rights. To justify the extra £20m a season maybe it was £15m a season for the Stadium Naming and £5m for the Etihad Campus naming. Or maybe the shirt sponsorship was increased to £30m a season and the extra £10 came from stadium and campus naming.

In 2015 two things happened which could have justified an improved deal the £265m deal with Chinese investors who bought shares in the club in Dec and the stadium expansion. There were reports of an increased deal that year, The Mirror were reporting £80m a season which is not likely and they aren't a reliable source to begin with:

Anyone else getting the feeling a certain bitter bunch of German ****s who play in red are behind these leaks?
Looking more and more like an attack each leak

100%. Referring to 1860 Munich as "Munich's second club" it's probably been drafted by Hoeness himself!

I can't believe some Germans have been on here and said Der Speilgl is a respected media outlet. All three articles read like a Facebook post from a bitter fan. There is no journalism going on here, it's just a rant with some stolen emails thrown in.

The talk of our fans being quiet, of Pep fawning over Sheikh Mansour, of the "tradition-rich clubs being unable to compete with the neuvoriche" it's got Bayern's dirty hands all over it.

Maybe Hoeness came in to contact with a hacker while he was inside for tax evasion?

And other clubs had the opportunity to formally raise a protest against any agreed settlement but none did.
PB I'm not a finance expert (despite working at a bank all those years - no wonder we had the financial crash) and so I may be missing stuff here, but how does LCFC's agreement with UK footy officials differ from ours? Didn't they do similar with sponsorship money etc?

I don't want to challenge any other club because we all compete within this crazy football world (and being Blues we need to stand back from all this and say it's not a my club's cleaner than your club debate), but I do think UEFA, FIFA, the FA etc. all need proper scrutiny. If I was sat in the UAE today allegedly responsible for some of the stuff reported I think I'd be looking at those who made deals or controlled the game before the MCFC FFP settlement and would consider how that should be brought out and discussed. City should stand up and say we want total transparency and then let's see who supports us? We should be the bigger people and say 'sure, xxxx happened and we regret it and will take any punishments the legal system says are fair, but are you aware of this, this and this.......'

All this has to be the biggest pile of lemon sucking, agenda driven, dummy spitting out, holier than thou, bitter bastard outing, sauerkraut munching bullshit ever. Why can't we just f*ck off and leave the entitled to their trophies and slouch off back to mediocrity. From wife beating fuckwits to half baked journo's to undermined football clubs who have far shadier pasts than us it is City that have become the ultimate enemy. Why? Because we had the audacity to become the best as they tried to suppress us and failed.

To the non agenda monkeys on here tell me what the fuck this is all about. It's times like these you see who your friends are and apart from one or two we have a shitload of enemies who are falling over themselves to condemn us to all kinds of f*cked up penalties on a basis where next to f*ck all has been proven. A hatchet job of the highest order that has our detractors frothing at the mouth but will ultimately end with them kicking the cat. Though there's one of two who should just kick the f*cking bucket.

City are on course to become one of the most successful clubs in world football and they all fucking hate it! Suck it suckers!!!
Non agenda monkeys! I'm going to use this from now on..

Cheers

This is getting tamer by the day.

The only shit they had that had anything like sticking power was the sponsorship but that ship has already sailed. They took us on at the time and failed as soon as we showed our teeth.

What it has highlighted is the absolute hatred for our football club across the nation. Some journalists have let it bubble away under the surface, this has given them a platform to spout their vile with no consequence.

The cnuts will turn up on Sunday though for their 5 star treatment, I’d ban the twats and tell them never to step foot in our stadium again.
