I've secured 4th with Espanyol with a few games to spare, that's all it'll be unless Real capitulate. 3 seasons in a row in the champs league had better get me a half decent sum to spend, I need a new top class striker and a cb to push on or I'll be perpertually 3rd/4th.

Kind of my situation, although i've started my new season pretty rubbish. Haven't settled on a core to my team yet following a Summer where i recruited with having a Champions League season in mind, then got knocked out.

Brought in a couple of quality young regens though, i might just throw them in and get them integrated, have a clear out next Summer. I have a lot of decent players but no-one really special. Trim the squad a bit, fewer, but better players. Build up a bank of young players who can come in if i get a few injuries, instead of paying high wages for back-up players who aren't going to play much and get pissed off about it.

Need to get through this season though without getting sacked or the whole thing imploding.

Finished my first season with AS Monaco, finished 3rd in the league.

I'm trying to emulate the Arsenal "invincibles" tactic. But failing

How has Mancini been faring in your respective FM seasons. In my game , Mancini finished 5th for two seasons before he was sacked .He then joined liverpool who finished 6th which again ended up in Mancini's sacking.Guus Hiddink is now at City and won the FA cup and semis of Carling cup and finished 4th in hsi first season.

I thought my season was totally ruined when Kadlec got injured for 4 months in january managed to hold on, had some dire,dire results though.

I've got a generally young balanced squad no-ones bad particularly it just lacks real quality, Kadlec is brilliant as is one of my regens but they can't do it alone, the youngsters should be better after another season though and I'm flogging Ben Sahar 8 goals in 40 games is pretty unacceptable when he's on 50k a week.

Yeah he got sacked at the end of the first season on mine then re-hired a few years later!

Was up all night last night but I finally did it!!
Varberg BOIS from the Swedish 4th div to the Swedish equivalent of the Premier League!
So chuffed, haven't cheated in the slightest either, normally I get so bored I just keep reloading matches till I win.

Found this amazing tactic on FMBase.. Took me a few games to get it right but I absolutely blizzed the league with that and a 34 year old braziallian striker called Cristiano.

Probably get relegated next season, ahh well. I'll keep fighting for European Footy :)

(Also Mick bloody McCarthy is manager of city.. What were they thinking?!)

beat Birmingham in the Carling Cup 3rd Round 4-2 at home with mostly kids.

Team: Given(had to flog 3/4 youth keepers as they were crap and bring in some others but they clearly aren't ready yet.)

Subs: Hart, Boateng, Chiellini, Aitor(on for AJ, kid from Spain), Weiss(on for Rusnak), Henshall, Gorka Santos(Wonderkid from Athletic, on for Bunn).

Invested a lot in younger players, unfortunately Thiago from Barca and Cairney from Hull weren't fit so I had to leave them out, and Guidetti is out on loan.
