After Ric's initial hectic start to Bluemoon FC he'd finally managed to put a squad together, albeit slightly on the small side. With a new club meant new fans and what better way to attract them than a number of high scoring games in pre-season. Bluemoon FC's first game was at home to Notts County, a side arriving at the ground believing it'll be a game to practise some shooting. One team did practise some shooting, racking up and impressive twenty-five shots it was certainly a good day for Bluemoon FC. It was however an unlikely source who came up with the first goal, a simple tap-in for kippaxwarrior from a corner made it 1:0 to Bluemoon FC on the 33rd minute. Moments later Griff93 was forced to go off after a nasty clash of heads with Jon Harley which left the young striker asking for his Fred the Red cuddly toy – the Bluemoon FC medical staff decided to rush him to hospital for urgent treatment. The second goal came just before half time by niall_mcfc who had only been on the field for a matter of minutes having come on for Griff93. At times it looked like Notts County were going to come back into the game having rattled the woodwork on a number of occasions however the Bluemooners fears were swept away when bluejonny94 made it 3:0 on the 69th minute with a fantastic effort from 29 yards out.
Following on from the superb effort against Notts County, Bluemoon FC were pitched up against a tough Walsall side at home. The game ended 0:0 following a great defensive display from the side. The next noticeable scoreline was the thumping 8:0 away win at Lowestoft, a team from the seventh tier of English football. The goals were shared out evenly on the day with Big Blue Swede bagging two, Scotteriath also notching a double and Blue Smarties, Mikem93, Ricster and once again, niall_mcfc all getting a goal each. A number of the boys didn't care that Lowestoft are in the seventh tier of English football and were so ecstatic following the result they decided to go on an all night bender. If anyone has seen Ricster please dump him outside the Bluemoon Forum Arena – otherwise known as Bluemoon FC's home ground. The last reported sighting of Ricster was the day after the game at 7AM, reportedly riding a donkey through a car wash.
The following game was Bolton at home which meant a thumping 4:0 loss, not helped by the absence of Ricster in defence. All was not lost however with a win coming in the following game against Worcester away. Once again niall_mcfc was on the score sheet bagging two goals, making the decision to instantly drop Griff93 back into the team when fit again a hard one. Mike93 and Scotteraith also nabbed a goal each. Mike93's being the pick of the bunch with a wonderful solo effort which left three defenders questioning each others ability before calmly slotting it past the goalkeeper. Worcester scored in the 90th minute to make it 4:1 however by then the game was over.
So with what some may claim was a very successful pre-season for Bluemoon FC, the squad are now left preparing for the opening game of the season at home to Hayes & Yeading. Some may say it's a bit unfair that Bluemoon FC are having to take on two teams at once considering it's the clubs first competitive game however many of the media are predicting that the team have the quality to get a result. A late addition was made to the team, a new centre back called Richard has entered the frame with the aid of buzzer1 and his alien friends. So on that note, it's time for the team to prepare for the opening day of the season – here's hoping it's a successful one.
