That's four correct, you're missing the hardest one.

Mourinho, Wenger, Benitez for starters.

Didn't Juande Ramos win it as well?

Well done, that is the fifth. Apparently Wenger and Benitez never won it, unless the website I used is wrong, which is entirely possible. Who gets the dubious honour of setting the next question, Matty or Spiderboy?

Re: Football Trivia Question of the Day

Thank you Lancet - an imposing imposition undertaken nobly. I'll step into the breach while Matty & Spiderboy fight it out..

next

Which Stockport County player of the 40s and 50s later topped the pop charts ?

Just to go back to the original county based question; aren't Newport the only FL team from Gwent?
Think newport are in monmouthshire also they are in league 2.

From Wiki:
It is the largest urban area within the historic county boundaries of Monmouthshire and the preserved county of Gwent.
Also, the original question was about league teams hence me mentioning them being an FL team.

Yes that's correct they are within the historic county boundaries of monmouthshire and play in league 2 like I said.

At this point and following confusion surrounding the previous question, it should be made clear that during the '40s and '50s Stockport County were a Football League side and most of the town was in Cheshire whilst a small part, north of the Mersey, was in Lancashire. The town fell into the newly formed county of Greater Manchester in 1974.

I think we need clarification on when exactly this player topped the charts, so that we can be sure whether we're looking for a Greater Manchester or Cheshire/Lancashire chart topper, though the question of football league status in the 70s isn't an issue.

;-)

The clarification you seek would render the question so lowly an intellectual challenge as to deter refined posters such as yourself. I can however disclose that his public musical success predated the local government reorganization inspired by my old friend and staunch blue, Baron Redcliffe-Maude.

No intellectual challenge is too low. Except perhaps this one. Haven't a clue.
