Footballer strike?

But how many minutes do the players play?

No one plays every minute of every game.

It's getting fucking stupid this argument, Gomez for example has probably played about 3 hours football for his 50k a week, or whatever he gets.

They can't have it both ways, the best players get paid a fortune and that money comes from tv, sponsorship and the fans.

If they want fewer games will they take a huge pay cut, will they bollocks!
Take the money out the equation for a second, do you want to see players at their best every week? If you get paid 10p or £1million, it still doesn’t mean you can perform at the top of your game because what’s in your bank balance if you are physically and mentally drained. The money they get is obscene compared to us all but it doesn’t mean they don’t get tired, if you go balls deep in all comps you can play 60-65 intense games a year, look at that run in for us, imagine the stress on the spurs games, if you think as a supporter it was bad imagine the players one fuck up and it’s over, ye the Lamborghini on the drive looks great but that trophy will look better. They still want to win but if your team is constantly changing because of fatigue and injuries then the team as a whole isn’t performing at its peak. The clubs themselves can’t complain as they do these stupid tours on a break, just look at Spurs and Newcastle after the season finished going to Australia!
Do they still have a players union, maybe it’s time to stand up and say enough is enough to uefa and fifa but you know money rules and it will get nowhere, maybe next time there is a press conference these so called journalists should stop going on about 115 and ask about shit like this, they’d get a bit more respect then.

Absolutely, for our lads though.

Rags and England are still reliant on fucking Maguire and Pickford.

2 that wouldn't look out of place on Hough End.
True, but he’s even got Southgate close to winning things for us. That’s despite the players you mention!

There’s people doing 12 hour shifts, etc.

Perhaps the clubs, the FA, UEFA, and FIFA should stop playing pointless and meaningless tours and friendlies throughout the year.

Spurs and Villa played a friendly in Melbourne 2 days after the season finished.
Don’t forget rinsing us for £2 million they could put in a sponsorship to keep “legacy” fans.

It's a good analogy tbf. An average brickie will have to graft till pension age to retire whilst an average PL football will probably be able to retire when they finish playing.

PL football players are not in the real world where people struggle to eat and pay bills, if they were they'd have something proper to moan about.
You missed the point of my analogy.

Top players play to much. Simple.

Our players get flogged in meaningless international friendlies which costed us with injuries at the pointy end of the season. These friendlies muck up our momentum.

Top athletes need time to recover. Seem to remember on the City documentary the medical staff say it takes 5 or 6 days to fully recover from a game.

Football is now a year round sport, most sports have a close season for the athletes to recover. Football is driven by money without any thought for the top players.

Would spuds v Villa in Australia take place if clubs didn't need to work to ffp ? Clubs need to chase money to meet ffp to be able to invest to complete with other clubs. Or do clubs just stay mid table thanks to ffp ?

There should be no such thing as international friendly matches, the league cup should be under 23 for premier sides and the CL should be drastically cut.
None of the above will happen due to money and the fact UEFA and FIFA cant agree on fuck all.

I'm going one further mate, if you accept a couple of hundred thousand quid a week from the club you play for then your loyalty should be for them and them alone.

It's up to the individual player to say to say no but they wont. It's no point complaining about having to play more games when many of those games are voluntary.
