But for me the most stunning City goal ever was Jim Melroses unbelievable volley from around the halfway line against Notts County at Maine Road in the mid-eighties ..... i can find no trace of it on youtube .... but take it from me it WAS special!

Blimey, someone else who remembers it too!!!
Was in the North Stand that day, right behind it.
My favourite by a mile

Back in those days (85/86 season) the only footagwas of games on MOTD or Kick off, as we were in the old second division we weren't on that much.
I was stood on the Kippax at the halfway line, it was brilliant.

Yep , it's all about personal choice , and there's no doubt that Goaters goal in that Gillingham clip had a touch of genuis about it , both in it's build up , and its execution.

Yep Melrose's goal for me too, I was in the North Stand right behind the goal, it was a perfect dipping volley. I'm sure City used to film matches then for training purposes, it would be criminal if they just recorded over that tape.

Anyone remember Graham Baker's chip against Spuds at WHL?
That was a bit of a cracker. He chipped it about 50 foot into the air over Clemence at the edge of the box, Spuds fans were pissing themselves thinking it was a wank effort, we went mental when it came down and dropped into the back of the net.

I remember that one too mate, weirdest goal I`ve ever seen lmao, can`t find that anywhere either ( didn`t realise Graham was so camp either).
As mentioned I`m sure City had their own recordings of some stuff, hopefully they`ll make it available if it`s still around.

I think that match was shown on Kick Off the next day.
