For me... the best City goal I've EVER seen!

Granted I've not seen many City game in the flesh (around 10 or so) but easily the best goal I've seen in those, or any game for that matter is Elano's free kick against Newcastle in 2007-08. To call it a good goal would be an understatement. Went like a rocket into the very top, top corner. Unstoppable. Was Shay in goal that day, or was it Steve Harper?
They both could have stood in the goal, and it wouldn't have been saved...

Just out of interest ( although a great goal) anybody remember the free-kick which was flicked up by one player and volleyed in by another, my memory is pretty vague on it, seem to remember maybe Tueart,Owen or Hartford sniffing around ?
It`s classed as `against the rules` now but I`m sure we got away with it that day.

Too right! I'll never forget the split second it took the crowd to take in the brilliance of that strike. And the other split second it took for us to realise that maybe, just maybe, we were witnessing the beginning of the something special.

What about this?

or does anyone remember Jim Melrose's, chest, turn and volley from about 40 yards v Notts County at home (Seamus McDonough in net - some reason he changed his first name from Jim?)

Does anyone remember Clive Allen scoring from near the halfway line away at Chelsea around 1991?

Have you read all of this thread!!!!?

Though the goal is completely meaningless, Stephen Ireland against Hamburg in the first minute last season is one of my favorite to watch. Three quality one touch passes and basically runs the length of the field for a one touch finish. Never get tired of seeing it.

Yes but it was more like 30 yards out IIRC.
