FOR or AGAINST Rangers/Celtic joining the PL?

WOW. Must say that I'm surprised at the level of bile on here. I'm against it as it's the English Premier League, and they only want to come down because of the money. However, the game is actually all about money, so don't rule it out. You should thank FIFA/UEFA as they won't allow it - Sky would OK it in a heartbeat.

So would their move south be a higher profile version of FCUM?

We dont like the league were in so were moving!

I wonder how they would survive financially for perhaps 7 years on next to no TV revenue and definitely no UEFA monies?

Which players would the sign simply for the glory of playing for them but for lower wages in lower league football?

As a businessman Charles Green has had some success but you begin to wonder how.

This would never happen, but I think it would be interesting to consider. Judging that Scotland will probably vote against independence, I personally think it would be interesting to join their entire scottish league with ours and Wales' and create a British league (Don't have a clue how they could do this fairly).
Why should Rangers and Celtic be any different to Hearts and Aberdeen? etc etc

After this they could also get rid of the home nations and create 1 british team, similar to our Team GB in the olympics.

Tbf to Rangers, they're still pulling in monstrous crowds for Scottish Division 3 standards. Surely it's not unrealistic to think they will pull in similar crowds if they started in the Blue Square Prem. If so, then they'd have the wages to pick from the best talent in L1 & L2 and possibly some very handy Prem/Championship youngsters on loan.

I wouldn't foresee them struggling to climb up the leagues in all honesty. Progress may stall a tad at Championship level but the fanbase is there to fire them to the top. I would imagine Celtic would be similar.

I said that to my mate about a Great Britain football team and a British football league, don't think it will work. The national team may as well be called England and Gareth Bale Football Association.

Being a Scottish rangers/city fan obv this would be a dream come true, however.......it's never gonna happen, one can dream though.....

I like how a man named Mr Green is in charge at Rangers, makes me smile every time.

Im Against, fuck em, fuck em both.

Especially considering Craig Whyte was the previous owner.

Green and Whyte. YCMIU.

Old firm - Scotland's shame.

If it happened, how would the two-teamers cope (you know the "I support Celtic & ....." or "I suppoprt Rangers & ....." mob)?

I could the rags level of Irish support dropping like a stone :D
