For those who booed when Elano was replaced

This vindicates everything said. Well done, cos I didn't have the patience!

Oh and you smashed him into silence, like the others!

It's an opponion written by a journo, no more conclusive than anything written on here. You just choose to believe it.

And even if the claims are true, at what point does Hughes publicly criticise Elano, which was supposed to be your origional point? Seems to me you've moved the goalposts because you couldn't back up your origional statement.

You clearly don't remember the interviews had! Elano is oft misquoted about his feelings on the matter, back then! That he slagged off Hughes, when all he said was he didn't understand why he wasn't being picked, when he was good enough to into the Brasil team! I paraphrase, so don't twist it.

Secondly, Hughes reacted to that by fining him and benching him, allowing carthorses like Vassell to take the berth Elano should have had, straight from the medical room! Then he put in Etuhu and anyone BUT Elano, until he had 'proved his point' at the expense of the club, IMO. This is the public criticism of Elano, loud and clear!

Do you think Hughes is stupid enough to make a rod for his own back over the public handling of the situation?! With the world on ADUG and on City?

He did his snide thing through the papers, as linked, shifting blame when suited!

Right, so he was misquoted in an interview, shall we ignore that Elano was playing piss poor at the time when he was playing for us? Or at least that was the view of some of the fans (not all, not putting words into anyones mouth). And if some of the fans thought so, there's a good chance that the manager could have. He then dropped him, and played
1) Vassell, who had a brilliant pre-season.
2) Etuhu, who looked promising in pre season.
Then, once that had failed, went back to Elano.
Maybe words were exchanged between the two, and I don't doubt that they are not the best of friends, but to say he dropped him just to teach him a lesson is absurd.
