Forest v City 1989/90 (Gary Crosby goal)

I remember it happening and the rules being quoted that both hands had to have control of the ball hence goal given.

I also remember all keepers for weeks afterwards being very careful with handling the ball, two hands at all times.

Does anyone know, would that goal be allowed nowadays?

I was there, surprised it didn't turn nasty.
So was I and it was on the cusp for quite a long time.

The thing with the incident was that the 3 steps rule had just been brought in from when a keeper had control of the ball.

If Dibble had walked around his area he'd have been done for steps hence, he had control and therefore, a foul should have been awarded.

Only if Eddie was in goal

George Courtney was was the top ref at the time said that he wouldn’t have allowed it as it wasn’t in the spirit of the game.
