Foy - just a bad referee

This season alone:

Stoke v Spurs
QPR v Chelsea
us V Utd

that should have him demoted for good from the top flight, simply not good enough. Says it all he wasnt going to give a foul re Kompany till Rooney got in his face and then he couldnt look Kompany in his face as he sent him off. Spineless

How many 'big 4 clashes' did that random fixture computer throw up on the weekend that Sky are covering the CC final?
The answer is quite simple: The only people who think the football calendar is supposed to be generated by a 'random fixture computer' are paranoid football fans.

There are numerous articles and interviews out there that outline the process, which, incidentally, takes a number of weeks to complete. There are a huge number of variables that have to be taken into consideration when generating the fixtures, and yes, these most likely include the commercial wishes of the TV companies that fund the game. The fixtures most certainly aren't randomly generated, but that isn't any sort of secret conspiracy.

Edit: Here's one such article on the subject <a class="postlink" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2009/06/secrets_of_the_fixture_compute.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher ... mpute.html</a>

The biggest indictment of refereeing as a whole is that before a game you check the ref as you know depending on who you have got it could have a huge bearing on the outcome of the game.

The fact that we all know the refs and we all know which ones are bad and which ones are 'fair' is a huge indictment on them, they should have no bearing on a game, if you're a good referee we shouldnt even know who you are, you should be a minor part of the game, people pay good money to see the players play, not to see you prance about and make yourself the centre of attention.

Ever since they became professional they bumble about under the misguided apprehension that they are on a par with the players, that they are a major and central part of the game and when it is shown that they arent they interject themselves into the game to make them the talking point.

Taking out city on sunday look at the chelski v wolves game is anyone talking about the lampard winner, nope its all about how he shouldnt have even been on the pitch so they are talking about ref, the newcastle v united game nobody talking about a heroic defensive performance nope its all about how the refs screwed up again.

In every single game they seem to go out of their way to make sure that they are being talked about and its quite simply unacceptable that titles, cups and basically the fate of multi million pound organisations is being decided by these people without any recourse for their actions its like letting the tealady decide if you should place a multi billion pound order.

It say's alot for the the English game sadly, the standards of referee's is shocking. Webb, Clattenburg and a few others are O.K but then you have Dean, Foy, Walton and the rest of the incompitent brigade.

I watch a few Seria A games on ESPN and even though there was the Calciopoli scandal a few years ago i would say the refereeing standard is currently better in Italy, certainly less biased towards the top teams.

Not just in Italy though, think of our Europa league runs in the last few seasons, and this year's Champions league run. I would say that in 90% of these games the referee's were fair and had good fitness levels.

...I agree with other posters in here to be honest, with all of the money involved with the BPL corruption is likely. It is the same every where, lot's of Governments are corrupt, Seria A was corrupt, why should it be so unlikely that there is corruption in England?

Crappenberg must be the worst ref to have officiated since the FA formed.

watched a league 2 game a couple of seasons back and foy never booked anyone and this was as rough as it gets.It seems as soon as the big games come the ref seems to want to be the centre of attention
