Jeez, I wondered how a two bit rant (no offence OP) had turned into 256 pages. I see in typical BM fashion two posters are slugging it out about whether someone said on page 5 something they did or did not deny on page 23 due to embarrassment/boredom/sexual inadequacy.

Only on BlueMoon, it's what the world has been waiting for.

Just sayin'
I come on here because it's like a blokey web version of Dynasty.

Who cares really, I admit its rare for people to be jobsworths to that extent in a football ground but the lad should bring his ID if he doesn't want to run the risk of not getting served. a 5 o'clock shadow isn't photo ID.

I don't know if it's already been said but, they didn't want to serve either one of you for one reason or another. I have only ever had this problem when I was either, acting the ****, pissed or associating with visually repulsive people at the time.

Without wanting to go over the same ground again, the 'rant' was that the barmaid then refused to sell a drink to a sober, well behaved bloke in his 50's, because she said "I'd definitely be breaking the law" because "I'd definitely be giving it to someone ( my 19 year old son ) who didn't look over 25". I said I wanted a beer for me and she said it wasn't for me.

Oh no. I hope I haven't opened up old wounds again. Stay calm GDM and BB.

Can't see the issue, it's common practice to "think 25" and its the lads responsibility to bring acceptable ID.
If the person selling alcohol deems it probable you'll give it to the person refused service, then they are within their rights to refuse selling to you also.

It IS their job to make that decision, and the managers will always back their staff in cases such as this.
If this was a "secret shopper" scenario and the person sold the alcohol under these circumstances, then they would probably be in line for some form of fine.

I keep seeing this 25 rule.Since when was the law in this country changed that you have to be 25 and over to purchase booze??? I say fight the jobsworth's!

I was on holiday in New York a few years ago and went into a supermarket on Fifth Ave.

A notice on the till said if you do not look at least 40 id must be produced to purchase alcohol

Going back to my post earlier, the shutters where down and water wasn't available. Apart from the taps in the bogs. I'd had a few by that point which didn't help.
