I’m all for giving Diaz having a run out however he needs the support of a decent left back who can cover him and at the moment we don’t have that

I agree mate....cant see us stepping back on any possible Fred deal because we need cover for Sane. My guess is that his club were asking too much now and didnt want to release him until the summer, so we've decided to go back after the season....big risk and his price can only go one way....up but not much we can do if his club not interested to talk! Not sure cover for Sane and Fred deal are linked in anyway. Missing on Sanchez looking even bigger now, especially if we really are trying to rush a deal for a winger/forward before the Jan window shuts!

Bit of a bummer but our club is ran exceptionally well so I’m not going to fret.

I’m not afraid to take big risks if it’s worth it but we’re putting a lot of stock into Fernandinho staying healthy for our CL run. I reckon three at the back will alleviate some of that risk. I feel pretty strongly that gundogan is a terrible option as our #6. Pep will adjust and tweak the plan if that has to happen but I don’t think Pep really considers him an option. I suppose Delph is next in line which isn’t terrible...
