Arguably he was decent against Dortmund in the CL tie. The fact he was one of our best player in Germany tells a lot (we were shit).
When he was proposed a new contract, his clan declared in the media it came as a shock and a big surprise.
My understanding is we needed to keep some french players, he is liked in the dressroom and we don't want/have the money to invest on his position. There is also the fact that Bernat is only left 1 year on his contract and has rejected our previous offers. Maybe we will recruit a number 1 if we can't reach an agreement with the spanish player and we are ok with Kurzawa being the back up.
Overrated, overpaid and a bad defender these last years.What about Marquinhos?
Been better in the midfield but again, there is no competition there.
He is groomed to be our next captain anyway which is worrying because, while Thiago Silva was lacking the leadership of a Ramos, he was still an excellent defender. Marquinhos is neither a top defender, neither has a Ramos kind of leadership.
He has not been exposed to harsh criticism yet because people tend to charge the captain, Thiago Silva, for our failures. Even when he has a great game.
Among PSG fans, we kinda want Thiago Silva to accept to substantially lower his wage and PSG to give him a one year extension because we are not ready without him and it would cost too much to replace him while we have urgent needs in the midfield and fullback positions. Unfortunately, he has said that the decision has already been made by Leonardo and he will finish the season like a true professional even if he is deeply disappointed because he wanted to stay.

PSG and no money ? Seems rather odd What are or should PSG priorities be if not left back ? If its as bad as you say it is
