the links listed under "media links" dont require any software mate, they will open up and stream similar to you tube

with all the other "APP links" listed (sopcast/tvu/tvants/veetle/pplive/ppstream) you will need the relevant software installing before clicking on the relevant link

the App links use the relevant software as a stand-alone viewer like windows media player, so when you click on a link it will open up in the relevant software stand-alone viewer and start connecting to the channel....within 1-2 mins the game will be on. The advantage of stand-alone links as opposed to media links is the stand-alone viewers buffer the stream in advance (like cd/dvd burning software), this makes the stream a lot more stable and less likely to stutter during viewing, but the streams can be around 2-3 mins behind live time

the stand-alone APP links tend to be the most stable and less likely to drop during the broadcast....however, if you are inexperienced it can be a little daunting at first using those

i would recommend that you stick with the media stream links at first until you suss out the stand alone stuff....the media links are fine to watch but do tend to be unstable and drop in & out during broadcast, so it's worthwhile to have this page open in the background, then if you lose a media stream you can click on another in the list quickly

Where would you download the software for the stand alone streams mate? And if i did this is it likely to slow down my pc?

Firstly, many thanks to OP and all contributors for the very gentle and top usufull service you provide through these topics.

I reckon I am a bit selfish because I am applying just now because it is the first time since long that Sky Italia do not provide for the coverage of an official season City game.

Whether any of You has time to waste on my problem, I'd be obliged to be learnt how to tune Veetle on tonight's match. I understand it may be long to explain, in the case, please do not waste time on my problem... :-)

BTW, I am browsing from Italy, got a 20mb/s provider, pointing to an open DNS and have installed the proper Veetle player v. 0.9.16. I am not registerd into the veetle website, as I hope to share as less personal info as possible on the web. Since now, If I go to <a class="postlink" href="http://www.veetle.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.veetle.com</a> and I search for sports channels (I can only find golf, zeus sport, tennis, bbball and whatever & wwe wrestling - none of them starts playing even after 2 mins. delay) . I also made sure that my McAfee antivirus is set to provide full access to veetle.
According to Veetle FAQ it should works but it doesn't. What's I am wrong?

would have to agree that veetle is the best of the bunch at the moment, but it tends to stream like youtube still, so can be problems with buffering

sopcast is a very close second and the one i tend to use
