I just checked - no it still works, BUT my saved favourites are offline and then it asks if I want to search for similar streams; it then brings up alternative Sky Sports options, and they were fine.

I watched game on it yesterday. Few times it did say stream was offline but eventually was ok

Uninstall/reinstall is worth a go.

Is it possible to connect a HTC One Mini to a telly ? I've heard the Media Link gadget is not very reliable. Can it be done with a lead ?

HDMI usb adapter and a HDMI cable. Basically you plug your charger and phone into the in section on the adapter and the HDMI cable from the out part and then into your TV. Select your TV yo view HDMI and basically what you see on your phone appears on tje tele. I use airstream as well to watch movies from my PC hard drive through my phone to my TV.
