The simple answer is it’s a total fucking blunder they’re not in for him. The other addition here is stop believing the stupid fucking doozy account and what it believes the wages are. How the hell does that stupid account continue to get posted.

Going all out for “kelvin phillips” and turning a blind eye for FDJ is mind numbingly stupid.

Only a select few clubs will be able to afford him and might be prioritising other positions. If he's still not made the move and we lose either Bernardo or Gundo then I'm pretty sure we'll go for him.

Even if he did. Doubling Phillips wages to 5m a year, is still third of what De Jong would take even if we persuade him to take a pay cut to 15m.

Transfer fees might be in the ball park, everything else way higher..
 
This would've been good like 3 years ago when we wanted him or Jorginho but I don't see a place for him here. He is on absolute monster wages in Barca and hasn't really kicked on from his Ajax days. He hasn't even played DM there, it's been old Busquets still. Probably not worth the risk for us, don't think the player would even want to join as he wouldn't be guaranteed starter.

Also with Rodri and Phillips I think we are going a bit different direction, slightly more press-oriented and active DMs than the control and possession focused De Jong or Jorginho.
