Believe me I am not, along with Walker my two favorite players since the takeover.I think you’re underrating Bernardo
Bernie at times looked average last season, came to the fore when needed but those little legs have taken one hell of a battering, maybe it's a good time to say goodbye.
I understand what you mean I tell you but De Jong in my eyes is more of a creative deep lying player rather than an attacker while Bernardo has a “jack of all trades” profile.Believe me I am not, along with Walker my two favorite players since the takeover.

He can be average in some games but he is never out of his depth wherever he has to play whether it’s supporting the defense (he played false left back for us this past season when we first were trying to implement the theee CBs strategy), the center of the pitch or attack. Furthermore I just wonder where FDJ will play in our new look system given that the “Stones role” requires someone who is just as capable in CB as he is in DM.

For a swap then I would agree. De Jong is still on high wages.
I suppose we could offer him the same and not pay him ?

LolNOT keen ; he turned down Utd. because he wants to stay @ Barca . He wants to stay @ Barca ços it's SUNNY & WARM.
Unlike Holland & Manchester.
We don't want a player - however good he is - on our books who will want to leave because he's sick of the cold & the rain. His girlfriend/missus likes the sun too.
It is a red flag for anyone who wants to sign De Jong with the whole situation that surrounds the player. What would be the stake through the heart or silver bullet to kill this thread? FDJ posting a video on social media of him getting out from underneath his Barcelona duvet cover to go to the bathroom and wipe his jacksie on toilet roll with badly and hastily drawn Manchester City crests on each sheet? Then strolling onto his sun kissed balcony for Al fresco sex.
