Frenkie de Jong

Going purely off a comment by Tolmie the other day, when he said a deal for FDJ was
" difficult ", could suggest that the rags may be pushing hard for his signsture and the player is tempted by the manager he has worked with previously.

That was in response to a suggested swap deal with Sterling if I remember correctly.

Or I may be way off .

You know where a player like De Jong aspires to play? At the 7th best team in England competing in the Europa Vauxhall Conference League. Can fully see him buying himself out of his contract to fulfil this lifelong dream.

It's simple, we pursue a player that wants us and only us. We appreciate him but till he says he wants us, it's off. He will have to settle for non UCL football, and the bigger factor is, there is no guarantee that rags make CL following year too.

The new CL format that will start in two years will allow 5th position from England & Spain to qualify for CL.

Probably something like this a player like Bernardo

Would love FDJ to come to City but not in exchange for Bernie.

If Bernie indicated that he absolutley wants to leave then we have a different conversation but from a footballing perspective Bernie could not be in a better place than he is right now and I doubt their is a better player in the world for the role(s) he plays for us.

100%

Give Bernado a nice new contract with a few more years added on after this year please.

Frenkie wants to stay. He has told the locker room this. He's annoyed by the rumours and he has nothing advanced with anyone. Xavi considers him untransferable but understands the financial situation. Barcelona await for an offer with United, City, Bayern and PSG interested

I'd suspect the lowest bid would be from the German rags. Followed by us because we don't typically go buck wild throwing "extreme" amounts of money for most players. The real rags and PSG going over the top with money trying to bring him in, 1A and 1B.

If United fail to make top 4 next season as well (which isn't a given) their coefficient drops and they would not be contenders. This is a non factor as of now.
