I seem to be a large minority here but I thought AJ did pretty well, watching the match I could see him constantly coming in to support the younger players, putting out as many 'fires' in the midfield as possible before they got to the defense and generally contributing as much as he could.

I assume I must be wrong when I read all the other comments on here, I guess I was just love drunk over getting to watch city again.

For the negatives of the match, far to often we lost possession in idiotic ways, but I assume as these players mature that will stop. Some players also you can just tell are not up to the standard required to break into the premier league let alone our squad, but again with time this might change.

Anyone notice neither The S*n or the M*rror sites had any sort of report of our win yesterday, yet managed to print reports of Blackburn beating the mighty Malaysian outfit Kitchee, Spurs edging past Brighton, and Bolton beating Newport. I guess if Balotelli isn't acting up, England's third best team are not of interest to the red tops.

IMO, AJ's performance was okay. He looked a lot more lively during the second half than the first especially the last half an hour or so. He tracked back, got forward on some occasions to provide a target, and also just seemed to want to get involved.

I think people have really high expectations from him, perhaps too high that they feel disappointed even from an average performance.

I don't think he warrants some of the comments made on here though.
